It’s a shame I had a lot of fun with this game and I’ll likely be revisiting soon for another go. It had/has issues, I really wish the space exploration/battles were a bit more fleshed out in particular.
When you adjust for inflation games are cheaper now than they were back in the 80s & 90s yet games are a lot more expensive to make. If the latest fifa/fc game (virtually same game every year) costs $70 at launch it seems kind of reasonable in comparison that a game that has been in development for 10 years costs more. The problem is that other developers will follow suit for their yearly slop games and that the extra money probably goes to the shareholders rather that the actual developers who worked hard on the game.
Doesn't the game struggle to run optimally even on the PS5 Pro? It'd be a miracle if they could get it to run at all on the Series S. The current gen just isn't really ready for Unreal Engine 5. Even the Matrix awakens (a tech demo) doesn't run well.
Gamers can be so silly sometimes, although I doubt a lot of the people complaining about this are really that into gaming. Being anti-woke or whatever seems to be a full time hobby for these types of people I doubt they really play that many games.
I think I'm one of the few who never had an issue with the stealth mechanics. But I'm happy people who hated them don't have to endure them anymore. I'm still waiting for some actual new content (dlc/expansions) because my main criticism is that the game felt too short and the space combat didn't play a large enough part.
@ChimpMasta I would consider a person who has not even played the game and gives the game a 0/10 because of "woke" to be disingenuous. Even if those concerns are legitimate to the individual its not an honest way to give a 0 unless the game is really truly unplayable and awful. It would be like me giving a GTA or RDR game a 0/10 because I don't agree with stealing and murdering without even playing the game. It says more about me than it does the game itself.
Problems with performance are undoubtedly genuine concerns.
I caved and ordered one from Very.co.uk @£560.00 (with 20% off first order discount) over 3 interest free payments. Still too expensive in my opinion but the discount and spreading the cost makes it a little more palatable.
Review bombers are their own worst enemy. There are genuine major criticisms of the game but they end up getting lost in the filth of the culture war bs. Now "audience scores" are almost worthless.
Trophies I can live without, always nice to have but by no means a deal-breaker for me. But why they don't let you purchase the game to play without Premium is mind-boggling. I paid for a year of premium and wasn't planning on renewing. Does the game have save-states and rewind features?

Re: Helldivers 2's Creative Director's Latest Comments Have Landed Him in Hot Water
Isn't the ship master a shaved-headed black woman? I thought that was like the most 'DEI' you could get.

I guess I missed the culture war fart cloud this time. Was the problem just that it was a ND artist or am I missing something?

Does this game use any of the DualSense features? I thought I saw it advertised but like specifically how is it used?
