Tiny brains, big character
Science: it’s a wonderful thing. Without science, we’d still be muddling through the dark ages, in a world without Facebook and instant soup. Of course, before such manmade wonders can exist, they need to be tested – and what better way is there to trial such innovations than by exploiting poor animals? Don’t call...
Back when Terraria launched on the PlayStation 3, we praised its diverse collection of content and its overall depth, but felt that the title's awkward user interface and time consuming gameplay held it back from greatness in our review. On Sony's handheld, however, the game makes use of the system's touch screen – but is the new...
Rebellion’s gruesome but gratifying scope-‘em-up Sniper Elite III is still on target for a 2014 release, according to a brand new trailer that the company fired online earlier today. The clip shows protagonist Karl Fairburne scouting out the ancient city of Tobruk in Libya – and putting a bullet right in the eye socket of an...
Off to work we go
Indie side-scrolling Minecraft-esque smash Terraria is set to start digging onto the PlayStation Vita this week, publisher 505 Games has announced. The title will scoop out its bucket and spade on 11th December in Europe, with a North American release set to rise out of the procedurally generated dirt a little later on 17th...
Grand Theft Auto IV returns
It looks like the UK market couldn’t get enough heist action last week. In addition to Starbreeze’s robbery simulator Payday 2 shooting straight to the summit of the sales charts, Grand Theft Auto IV also put in an impressive reappearance on the back of the recent Grand Theft Auto Online reveal. It’s a testament to...
Game was not good enough
Much like the sport that it’s based upon, Ashes Cricket 2013 will be standing around in its whites for a few more months. 505 Games has decided to hold back the sleepy simulator until November, due to the title not meeting quality expectations. It will now deploy alongside the second Ashes series, which is set to be played...
Terraria is a strange title. Its 2D world suggests simple fun when compared to the gritty realism that most games portray, while its quirky styling and audio lead to an often comedic atmosphere. Don’t be fooled by the aesthetics, though – this is a release that demands your time and effort if you want to get the most out of it...
It's off to work we go
If you’ve been eagerly awaiting an opportunity to dig out your 16-bit shovel and you happen to reside in Europe, then know that salvation is at hand. 505 Games has confirmed that popular indie title Terraria is coming to the PlayStation Store on 15th May in the region – almost two months after its release in North...
Tunnelling onto a new home
Add another indie hit to the PlayStation Vita’s release schedule, as just like previously rumoured, Terraria is digging onto the handheld later this year. The port – which launched on PlayStation 3 in North America this week – is being handled by Engine Software, a specialist in handheld conversions. There’s no...
Question will be addressed next week
Popular indie sandbox title Terraria is digging onto the PlayStation 3 next week. The conversion of Re-Logic’s cult PC smash-hit will ship with a smattering of new features, including overhauled controls, new boss battles, and split-screen support. But while publisher 505 Games readies itself for the port's PS3...
Sequel also firing onto PlayStation 3
A sequel to the surprisingly satisfying long-range shooter Sniper Elite V2 will target both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 next year. The straight-firing Sniper Elite 3 will aim to capitalise on the success of its predecessor, which IGN reports went on to sell an impressive 1.1 million copies in 2012...
Downloadable shooter planning the perfect heist
Bloodcurdling masks and carefully staged crime sprees will make a comeback this summer, as Overkill Software applies the finishing touches to Payday 2. The sequel to 2011’s likeable co-op heist simulator, Payday: The Heist, was formally announced earlier today, and promises some noteworthy...
It's off to work we go
PC indie smash hit Terraria will up sticks and arrive on the PlayStation Network in February, publisher 505 Games has announced. The creative side-scroller will come with a wealth of new content, including a full tutorial, enhanced controls, and a fresh boss battle. The re-release will also feature a throng of original...
Construct a better world
Ace indie game Terraria is taking a detour onto PlayStation 3 – and this brand new trailer proves it. The short video shows the game in action, and teases the bevy of new content being added to the console version. There’s still no release date for the downloadable title, but publisher 505 Games promises it’s “coming...
On the rob
505 Games will publish the secretive sequel to PSN shooter Payday: The Heist, developer Starbreeze has announced. The publisher will also handle the release of the Swedish outfit’s new intellectual property, P13. Starbreeze snapped up original Payday: The Heist developer Overkill Software earlier this year. We suspect the sequel will...
Ready, teddy, go
We’re not sure anyone expected a Naughty Bear sequel, but considering the promise of the original game, we’re secretly glad that Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise exists. The digital download’s aiming to “deliver a dramatically enhanced experience”, and judging from the tweaks featured in this brand new trailer – it just...
Taking candy from a baby
505 Games has picked up the sequel to Payday: The Heist, developer Overkill Software has announced. The studio – which itself was snagged by Starbreeze earlier in the year – revealed the news on its official website this afternoon. The company said that the deal will allow the studio to “pull off heists on a scale...
Panic in paradise
Naughty Bear is back. After the original title seriously under delivered, we can’t say we ever expected to type those four words – but here we are, staring at a press release for Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise. Honestly, we’re not making this up. This time the murderous soft toy is set to saunter onto the more appropriate...
Bang, you're dead
As far as we’re concerned, sniper rifles have always been the most satisfying weapons in games. There’s something rewarding and morally profound about picking off an unsuspecting target from long-range distance, and the original Sniper Elite on PS2 captured that sentiment spectacularly. Since Rebellion’s original stealth...
Pull the trigger
Publisher 505 Games has confirmed that it will release a demo for Rebellion’s upcoming Sniper Elite V2. The short sampler will launch at some point this month ahead of the game’s full release in May. It’s unclear what the demo will include, but we’re expecting a mission or two from the final game. Remember, if you pre-order...
End this hellish war
It’s telling that the most interesting thing about Sniper Elite V2 is its pre-order bonus, but, having said that, killing flippin' Hitler is a pretty big selling-point after all. The additional mission’s up for grabs now for all those who register interest in Rebellion’s sequel ahead of its 4th May release. Just please,...
Reich for the stars
Rebellion’s hoping the draw of rewriting history will be enough to get you to register your interest Sniper Elite V2 before release. Anyone that pre-orders a copy of the 505 Games published title will get to put a bullet in the noggin of one of the world’s greatest dictators: Adolf Hitler. The bonus level – named...
The Zumba train continues to do what it does best in this week's British sales charts
That's right, Zumba Fitness has made it thirteen weeks at the top of the UK sales charts. We sense the game's time is up this week though, with the release of Deus Ex: Human Revolution teetering on the horizon. Elsewhere, it's pretty much as you were. Hit the jump for the full top-ten. Zumba Fitness (505..
We're starting to wonder if any game will ever dethrone Zumba Fitness
Deus Ex: Human Revolution? Maybe. Resistance 3? Possibly. Dead Island? We hope so. It has to happen at some point, right? This is Zumba Fitness' ninth week at the top of the UK sales charts. It's outrageous. Catch the full top-ten after the hop. There's nothing to talk about, because no games are being released. Welcome to the..
Yes, Zumba Fitness is still number one
No, no new games have been released. Sunglasses. Deal with it. Zumba Fitness (505 Games) DiRT 3 (Codemasters) Cars 2 (Disney Interactive) Just Dance 2: Extra Songs (Ubisoft) LEGO: Pirates Of The Caribbean (Disney Interactive) FIFA 11 (EA Games) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two (EA Games) LEGO: Harry Potter - Years 1-4 (Warner Bros) L.A. Noire..
Perhaps the bigger story here is that there's a rugby game coming out
Developed by HB Studios and published by 505 Games, Rugby World Cup 2011 is due out at the end of the month. But those eager to learn how the sport of rugby can possibly translate to video games will find a demo on the PlayStation Network tomorrow. The demo features England and South Africa and is set in Auckland. Intriguing.
505 Games has released a new trailer attempting to prove why its upcoming Supremacy MMA is the "dirtiest MMA game yet"
We think the subtle use of classical music adds to the effect. The visuals aren't great, but the game certainly looks gnarly.</em>
To be fair -- not much else launched in the UK last week to challenge Zumba Fitness' unbeatable reign
There was movement elsewhere however. Cars 2 climbed into second, while Call Of Juarez: The Cartel sticked to the top three. Elsewhere there's really not much else to say: regular favourites DiRT 3, FIFA 11 and Call Of Duty: Black Ops all charted. Someone topple Zumba Fitness, please. Zumba..
Will it be MMAssive?
Vita's getting its first taste of blood with Supremacy MMA later this year. The arcade-styled take on mixed martial arts will reach Vita in time for Christmas, complete with its female fighters and speedy gameplay. The announcement doesn't mention whether the game will make use of Vita's unique features, but stay tuned for more...
It's been a bizarre day for handheld systems
The Internet seems to have replaced all its goodwill for the PlayStation Vita — born out of an excellent E3 showing and fantastic price-point — for trepidation and concerns. The main take-away, as far as we understand it, is that the pressure is back on Sony now Nintendo's decided to dramatically drop the price of its Nintendo 3DS due to some..
Shake and shimmy with Sandy
The inexplicably popular musical Grease is coming to PlayStation Move later this year, with UK publisher 505 Games planning to unleash it on the Christmas crowds on 4th November. Last year the game released on Nintendo Wii to less than glowing reviews, but earlier this year 505 promised an improved Grease for Sony's...
Pretty neat for Tom Cruise fans this
Sony has revealed a couple of Blu-ray movie/video game hybrids for Top Gun and Nascar: Days Of Thunder. Each of the packs — published by 505 Games — include a copy of the movie and its respective game. It's the first time either of these games have received retail releases, as they were previously only...
505 Games has announced that it will publish Sniper Elite V2 on the PlayStation 3 next year
The game is being developed by Rebellion. Its very exciting to be working with one of the new breed of major publishers like 505 Games, said Rebellion CEO, Jason Kingsley. Sniper Elite was an important, genre-defining property and were hoping to have even greater success by teaming up with the..
Tell us about it, stud
Last year's Grease: The Game took the beloved musical and turned it into a party game for Wii, when what we all really wanted was to get up to sing and jive as Danny Zuko, Sandy, Rizzo and the rest of the Rydell High gang. Later this year we'll finally be able to make all those dreams come true with the announcement that...
A real mixed bag
Whether you want to burn off the Christmas turkey in Zumba Fitness or bowl a turkey in Brunswick Pro Bowling, you'll be able to do both from February as 505 Games announces European release dates for both titles. Or release date, rather: both games will launch on February 4th in the UK, and both will support the PlayStation Move...
We'd almost forgotten about Naughty Bear
While we loved the game's concept, we found the reality of its gameplay sorely lacking. Sadly, we weren't the only ones drawn in by that initial batch of comical trailers. Plenty of you bought the game, and we suppose some of you want a bit more. Thankfully, A2M and 505 Games are going the right way about it...
505 Games are one of the newer publishers on the block
They've already dropped Naughty Bear on us. And now they've announced Deep Black, a game from Russian studio Biart Games. It's basically an underwater third-person shooter, in which you'll use specialised equipment (harpoons!) to take out a bunch of underwater threats. Neat concept. Expect to hear more about this over the coming months.
We haven't got a clue what you actually do in Naughty Bear
Not one clue. We think it's some kind of open-world stealth game but honestly, we don't know. For all we know, it could just be a series of hilarious clips sewn together. Either way, we know we'll find out this Friday when our copy arrives. That's right guys, Naughty Bear is out this Friday in Europe. Heck, this is the launch trailer above!..
Naughty Bear may not be a series of ridiculous trailers after all
Apparently it's a real game too — with multiplayer. Yup, that's right, Naughty Bear's taking the naughtiness to the modem, with game modes such as Jelly Wars and Cake Walk. Jelly Wars has three bears working co-operatively to collect jelly, while a single Naughty Bear tries to stop them in their tracks and maim their cuddly bodies..
Well, we're not really sure what to say
Sit back, click the video above and enjoy. No words can top Naughty Bear's latest trailer. Oh how we long for this game. Day one, as the kids on the forums say.
Another day, another Naughty Bear trailer
And guess what? The nastiest stuffed teddy this side of toy-land is up to his old tricks again. This time he's making candy-fluff. Eat around the buttons, they were once a helpless bear's eyes.
At this stage, does it even matter whether Naughty Bear is desperately awful as an actual video game? The answer is no, because we're having way too much fun laughing at the stupid self-awareness of these teaser trailers
And also, we just want a game that casts a murderous teddy bear as its protagonist to be a massive hit.
If you've been reading PushSquare for a while, you'll know that we are very excited about A2M's upcoming title, Naughty Bear
Purely stylistically, it's like nothing else we've ever seen, and if the gameplay matches the ambition it could turn out to be a bit of a sleeper hit. If you're not yet aware what Naughty Bear's all about - it's essentially a tale of teddy bear stuffing and meat cleavers..
Naughty Bear is a game that should be on everyone's radar
This Aliens parody trailer continues to confirm that point. We don't know what to expect from Naughty Bear's gameplay yet, but the package just looks so different, and so ridiculous that it can't be bad, right? Right?
And suddenly, every gamer, boy or girl, wanted to play A2M's Naughty Bear
For a concept so absolutely bonkers, Naughty Bear is already gaining quite the fanbase. We can't wait to see more of this game in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you'll have to make do with this deviously short trailer.
Naughty Bear is going to be an actual video game
.. Erm. No, it really is going to be a real video game. If you want to scare yourself senseless, check out the debut trailer above. Weird, man. Really weird. But also kind of awesome.
505 Games has just announced a new project from Wet developer A2M - Naughty Bear
That's right, their upcoming Playstation 3 title is about a bear. A naughty one. In fact, according to a trademark filed by A2M, this bear is violent. And he's stuffed. As in he's a teddy. Apparently the game is all about hurting other bears. It sounds ridiculous. But at the same time, strangely awesome.
