Will Sony ever make an Uncharted 5? Well, there are rumours floating around about a new entry in the works at Naughty Dog, and if that's true, the team definitely doesn't need to worry about getting Nathan Drake back.

Speaking during a Q&A session at Gamergy in Puerto Rico, Nolan North — who played the character in all his big adventures — was asked if he would return to the role for a new game.

His answer was an emphatic yes.

"110 per cent. Absolutely," he says. "I think it would be one of the biggest games ever if they decided to do it. It just depends if Sony wants to make money."

He says he "absolutely would" reprise the role, even saying he tries to "stay in shape just in case."

"It was 10 years of work with good friends, good people, a great developer. I can’t see a scenario that I would say no [...] I haven't heard anything, but you know, it is a business and my God, can you imagine if they if they did? I mean, it would be the biggest announcement in gaming. And I don't think that's hyperbole, I think that's true. I think that would be... to bring back a storied franchise like that? You just don't want to make a Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."

I'm not sure you could get a much clearer answer than that.

North says he hasn't heard anything about a new Uncharted, but if there is one in production, he'll be sworn to secrecy anyway until it's formally announced.

Rumour has it that the new game would focus on an adventure starring Nate's daughter, Cassie Drake, alongside her father in a supporting role. Apparently, Shaun Escayg, who directed Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, is spearheading the game.

Again, that's little more than hearsay at this stage, but it's at least good to know that North is so keen to come back. While The Lost Legacy proved that Uncharted can work without Nathan Drake, one more adventure with the main man would be a real fan pleaser, as the actor points out.
