Edge of Memories, the JRPG-inspired outing by French dev Midgar, had been one of the few games willing to go head-to-head with GTA 6.

It was originally due out on 5th November, which is also when Nintendo’s Ocarina of Time remake drops, by the way.

Perhaps sensing it may get buried in the crowd, publisher Nacon has decided to move the otherwise appealing effort into a quieter release period, on 3rd December.

A new trailer shows off the lush environments you’ll find in the game, which is set in the fictional continent of Avaris.

The project has some all-star names attached to it, like Xenoblade Chronicles X character artist Raita Kazama and NieR writer Sawako Natori.

For me, this is a game I do have a passing interest in, but I think Nacon has made the right call here. Pushing the release back a few weeks should give it a better chance of being able to stand out from the crowd.
