Update []: CD Projekt Red had planned to reveal the contents of its Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.5 in a livestream tomorrow, but it appears select content creators were briefed ahead of time, as one has accidentally published their coverage early.

The YouTube video is back to being listed as private now, but we watched the video before it was pulled and have summed up the headline additions below:

  • Adds a new side quest called 'Clampdown', which is specifically set before Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2
  • Adds a new side quest called 'Welcome to Paradise'. It takes V on a mysterious tour of Night City
  • Adds a new perk to the Cool skill tree called 'Double Trouble', which lets you dual wield power pistols or revolvers. Several secondary perks branch out from it
  • Adds a new radio station that exclusively features tracks from the Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime (both Season 1 and 2)
  • Adds five new 'Glamdocs' to Night City, where you can customise the look of your arm and hand cyberware. The docs themselves are brand new characters with fresh voice lines and animations
  • Adds five new clothing sets which are sold through different districts
  • Adds a range of new NPC hairstyles which V can now be customised with. Some are limited based on your choice of male or female body type
  • Adds even more photo mode options, including frames from the Cyberpunk trading card game, so you can make your shots look like card art
  • Adds mod support for consoles using mod.io, just like in The Witcher 3 Remastered. Using mods will disable Trophies on that save file
  • Adds an FOV (field of view) slider on consoles, allowing players to adjust the first-person camera
  • Adds save file folders, based on playthrough
  • Adds item filters to V's stash storage
  • Fixes HDR settings on PS5 that previously made no difference
  • Various bug fixes

Original Story: CD Projekt Red has announced it's got yet another Cyberpunk 2077 patch on the way, this time in collaboration with the second season of its anime TV show spin-off, Edgerunners.

The developer will update the RPG to version 2.5 on 22nd October 2026, and tomorrow it will have a REDstream to share what's in store. The blog post teases "cyberware customization, a new dual-wielding playstyle, and more". Presumably, it will all link into the TV series in some way.

You can tune in to the Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.5 livestream on YouTube and Twitch at the following times:

  • North America: 8am PDT / 9am MDT / 10am CDT / 11am EDT
  • UK/Ire: 4pm BST
  • Europe: 5pm CEST / 6pm EEST
  • Asia/Oceania: 12am (Thu) JST / 11pm AWST / 2am (Thu) AEDT

Since launch, CD Projekt Red has supported Cyberpunk 2077 absurdly well with additional content and game-changing updates, and update 2.5 is simply set to be the latest in that line. Once all the additions and changes have been shared by the developer, we'll have coverage it all for you here on the site.
