This PS5 Gameplay Trailer Might Be Our Best Look Yet at Fairgames 1

A trailer has been doing the rounds for a game known only as Project Espresso, but many believe it to be Sony's live service multiplayer shooter, Fairgames.

Fairgames — which might have changed its name to Break In — was announced during a State of Play years ago, but we've heard nothing about it since.

Now, a trailer for an upcoming playtest has emerged online for Project Espresso, which appears to bear similarities to Sony's elusive shooter.

The video comes via Player.gg, a site where people can sign up to playtest upcoming releases. The site claims to have exclusive access to Project Espresso.

It describes the game like this:

"Project Espresso is a third-person PVPVE competitive action game where competing teams race to infiltrate high-security locations, steal valuable cargo, and make it out before their rivals."

This does line up with what we already know about Fairgames, which is also a PvPvE shooter about pulling off heists.

The pre-alpha gameplay in the trailer is captured on PS5 Pro, strengthening the belief this is in fact a playtest for Fairgames.

If we're to presume this is the same game, I think this new trailer is a much better look at what the game is than its initial reveal.

Obviously, not everyone will be into a competitive extraction game about robbing vaults and making off with the cash, but for what it is, it looks pretty good.

If playtests like this are happening in the near future, I expect it won't be too long before we see the official re-reveal of this game — maybe early next year.
