Last week, Bandai Namco shined a light on the online multiplayer aspect of Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, and it looks like the most robust the series has ever had.

Part of it is down to a hub, where you can meet and interact with other players in between matches or missions.

A detail touched upon in the explainer video is that this hub will contain an arcade, where you can freely play a variety of retro Bandai Namco games. Pac-Man was provided as an example, but the rest were being kept secret.

Well, the official account for the series has now confirmed more about this part of the online hub:

In the above post, the following games are confirmed to be part of the arcade:

The post (auto-translated) seems to suggest the selection of arcade games will rotate on a seasonal basis, with the above titles being the Season 1 crop.

In a follow-up post, series director Kazutoki Kono explains why Dragon Spirit made it in:

"The reason [Dragon Spirit] is included in the first installment is because it became popular among the staff during development (not a single one of us could clear stage 3)," he writes.

This whole thing reminds me of Like a Dragon's SEGA arcades, which include a variety of old school classics too.

Ace Combat 8 being a sort of Bandai Namco equivalent is pretty damn cool.

Are there any classic Namco titles you'd like to see in the Ace Combat Online hub? Tell us in the comments section below.
