Spidey fans have been treated to a very good new movie, and they can even don the character's suit from Brand New Day in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 to keep the good times rolling.

Unfortunately, the free new costume was quickly met with a lot of criticism from players, who complained about inconsistencies with the suit in the film, as well as a lack of battle damage that builds up on Peter Parker's other outfits.

Well, developer Insomniac Games has been paying attention, as it's just released a new patch for Spider-Man 2 that makes some changes to the Fresh Start suit.

The update improves the costume with adjusted colours and materials to better match the movie, plus battle damage to keep it consistent with the rest of Spidey's wardrobe.

There are still some people complaining, however; some think the blue is too light, while others wish for the suit to be more cloth-like and include wrinkles. Turns out you can't please everyone.

Here's a comparison between the old and new versions (new being the second image):

To me, the new version generally looks closer to the suit in Brand New Day, but I don't think the original looked bad either. It's nice of Insomniac to respond to its fans, though, and it looks like most are pleased with the changes overall.
