I’ve got to be honest, when I reported on the return of Ninja Baseball League-Man: Bases Loaded, I overlooked the subtitle.

I guess the sign was there all along: the 1993 beat-’em-up re-release will feature a crossover stage inspired by Jaleco’s sports game of the same name, er, Bases Loaded.

There’s no real word on how that stage will play, but you can check out a new trailer below:

Original Story: I’ve personally never played Ninja Baseball Bat Man, but I’m vaguely familiar with the 1993 Irem beat-’em-up.

I’m pretty over-the-moon with this upcoming revival, then, which is coming to the PS5 on 10th December.

Ninja Baseball League-Man: Bases Loaded will repurpose the original arcade release, but sprinkle in some new features, like a “high difficulty” mode, additional minigames, and a rearranged soundtrack.

(Don’t worry, though, the original music will be available to select as an option as well.)

In Japan there’ll be a physical release for Sony’s console, although there’s no word just yet on whether that’ll be available overseas.

Here’s what the blurb says:

“The righteous 'League-Man' step up to retrieve the stolen Golden Baseball Statue from the Baseball Hall of Fame!

Chain together exhilarating combos with rapid button mashes, execute wild throw moves after grabbing opponents, and wipe out incoming enemies with flashy special moves triggered by a single button!

‘Pink’, who was only a support character in the original, makes a long-awaited debut as a playable character. Experience newly reborn action in brilliant full high-definition!”

I’m really, really looking forward to playing this as I’ve always been somewhat aware of this title but never actually got around to trying it.

If I recall correctly, a comic book adaptation launched a few years ago, and now I’m tempted to give that a read too.
