An entirely new city, and all the subsequent activities that entails, will debut when Zenless Zone Zero’s free v3.0 update arrives on 17th June.
With the stakes ever-rising for Phaethon, the protagonist will finally unlock their combat alter-ego Pyoris in this version, with its full Mindscape and signature W-Engine set to roll out over the course of Season 3.
In addition to battle, Pyoris will also be used for navigation in new location Roscaelifer, where it can grind on airborne rails, a bit like in the Ratchet & Clank games.

The city in the sky will be host to all sorts of new activities, including a kind of auto-chess inspired Bangboo minigame and a fresh daily task involving a cookie stall.
The update will also introduce the game’s first Wind-based attribute agent Velina, deepening the game’s overall combat systems.
Velina will headline the first half of the update alongside Ye Shunguang, while Fire agent Norma will follow in the second-half alongside Angels of Delusion leader Sunna.
Everyone will get 20 free pulls just for logging in, with HoYoverse set to celebrate the game’s second anniversary in v3.1.
I’m excited to explore the new city and see what gameplay it entails, although I must admit this update doesn’t seem quite as transformative as I’ve come to anticipate from these new seasonal refreshes.
Perhaps that’s a case of my expectations being out of sync, or maybe I’ll better appreciate it once I get my hands on it. I do think I’ll pull for Velina, though, as I’m excited to try out that new Windswept combat system.
