Remember Tearaway? One of Media Molecule's best games, the papery platformer was released first on PS Vita in 2013 and followed by a PS4 rendition a couple of years later.
Well, you may not know this, but its companion website, Tearaway.me, is still active. Unfortunately, that won't be the case for much longer.
This flew under the radar, but Sony and Media Molecule announced the site will soon be shuttered. From 13th August 2026, it will no longer be accessible.
Unlike LittleBigPlanet, Tearaway is a straight-up 3D platformer with no in-game tools to make your own levels.
Instead, it features a brilliant aesthetic in which everything is made of paper and card, and it's so faithful to the material that Media Molecule ensured all models in the game could be made in real life. It's not a faked effect, it has a basis in reality.
Official papercraft that you can print out and physically make in real life was included in the game, too. This was Tearaway's "Play Create Share" element, allowing you to bring the game's world into yours and make something with your own hands.
As well as the destination for finding these papercraft designs, Tearaway.me is essentially a place where fans could upload photographs of their paper models, as well as in-game screenshots or other creations.
The papercraft print-outs are now hosted on Media Molecule's own website through the link, where you can download them as a PDF.
While the Tearaway.me site is probably not attracting much traffic these days, I would encourage you to check it out. There are hundreds of thousands of pictures uploaded, showing off the paper models people have made, cosplay, drawings, and other creations.
It'll probably make you nostalgic for the game, but beyond that it's just so adorable seeing people share what they've made on this forgotten website. It's like a time capsule for the mid-2010s.
Are you a big fan of Tearaway? Did you use Tearaway.me to share your paper creations? Tell us in the comments section below.

Honestly shocked it was still up.
Adored Tearaway - platted it on both Vita and PS4. The use of the back touch panel on Vita was ingenious.
This is the type of game I'm hoping MM are now making and should have made more of. Whilst I appreciate a lot of ppl like them, UGC games aren't my jam!
Goated game. Genuinely top 5 for me. Unforgettable time playing it on the Vita. Never made the papercraft though, maybe this is the sign to start!!
Also loved this on vita but how is it 13 years old already!
Tearaway was special. I've always been disappointed that the property never took off.
Tearaway is a cute lil game, such fun.💚 Anyways wake me up when Media Molecule finally releases a game.
I loved Tearaway on the Vita (made nice use of the touch controls) but I never messed with Tearaway.me. Nice that they kept the site up as long as they did. As a huge fan of their work I would love to see what MM is currently working on.
Sony shutting down MM content? Surely not!
Oh wait, they killed the LBP servers not long after MM uploaded all their textures and objects to it, and never brought them back.
Was hoping that they might have announced something at the recent State Of Play...oh well.
I just replay Tearaway on Vita like three weeks ago and thinking of printing those cute papercraft.
It's pretty sad this fun and creative game didn't sold well, with Vita version estimate at 600K copies while Unfolded was a flop. If only a good numbers of PS fans support this game...
Tearaway is one of my favourite games ever. And the best example that even great games don't necessarily sell well.
@naruball it didn't help that great hardware doesn't necessarily sell well. I loved the Vita but, boy, did that thing not make an impact.
Still surprised they didn't shut this studio down before bleupoint games.
At least bluepoint made some remakes.
Media molecules last hit was lbp2 in 2011 15 years ago.
I miss when devs would make fun little sites like this for games, they're definitely a relic of the past.
