Now less than two weeks away from launch, Ubisoft has uploaded the exact specs you can expect from every graphical mode present in Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced on PS5.

To cut to the chase, you can go from 30FPS to 60FPS — and potentially in between — while maintaining a 4K resolution and some level of ray tracing. Three modes (Performance, Fidelity, and Balanced) accommodate this on both the base PS5 and the PS5 Pro, but you'll want the latter for the best experience.

Here are all the graphical modes on offer in Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced:

Base PS5 Modes

Performance Fidelity Balanced
Resolution 2160p upscaled 2160p upscaled 2160p upscaled
Target Performance 60FPS 30FPS 40FPS
Ray Tracing Usage Standard Extended Extended

PS5 Pro Modes

Performance Fidelity Balanced
Resolution 2160p upscaled using PSSR 2 2160p upscaled using PSSR 2 2160p upscaled using PSSR 2
Target Performance 60FPS 30FPS 40FPS
Ray Tracing Usage Extended Extended Extended

In terms of the ray tracing descriptors, Ubisoft adds the following explanation:

Standard
Ray tracing used to compute global illumination for diffuse lighting throughout the game world
Extended
Full support of ray tracing to compute global illumination for diffuse lighting and reflective surfaces throughout the game world

In short, it seems Ubisoft is looking to offer a really strong experience on base PS5, both graphically and performance-wise, and the PS5 Pro builds on top of that with an extra layer of polish. In a PlayStation Blog post, it's revealed the PS5 Pro goes above and beyond with "richer lighting and reflection quality while maintaining higher performance targets across Performance, Balanced, and Fidelity modes".

The upgraded console also features Ubisoft's "strand-based hair" technology. "Rather than relying solely on traditional hair cards, the engine can simulate and render individual strands for more natural motion and response to wind. All of this allows us to get a very realistic hair render for our characters."

Main character, Edward, has this feature activated across all graphical modes on PS5 Pro. You'll also see it working on every character during cutscenes.

Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced launches for PS5 on 9th July 2026, but which graphical mode will you be playing it in? Post your pick in the comments below.
