Kynseed, a Life Sim Combining Stardew Valley and Fable, Is Coming to PS5 This Summer 1

The highly regarded life sim Kynseed is finally making its way to consoles, and that includes both PS5 and PS4.

The game, which is loosely described as Stardew Valley meets Fable, hits Sony's machines on 4th August, 2026. Here's a trailer:

Developed by PixelCount Studios, which includes former Fable developers among its top staff, Kynseed is a game in which you live many lives over generations in the land of Quill.

As with most games in its genre, you'll spend a good amount of time farming, crafting, building, and socialising with the other townsfolk.

However, you'll also plant a literal family tree that branches out as you make choices in the game. When your current character dies, control will pass down to their children, allowing you to continue playing over many in-game generations.

In addition to your farm, you're also able to run shops, become a blacksmith, brew potions, fight through enemy hordes in the forest, and of course, forge relationships and raise a family.

There's also a slightly darker edge to the world, which incorporates fairytale creatures and an underlying mystery for you to solve.

It seems like one of those games you can take in a lot of different directions. Like Stardew Valley, you'll have a lot of different things you can do at any given time, perhaps even more so here.

Kynseed will set you back £19.99/$24.99 once it arrives, and will include all major updates released so far, including the brand new Tavern update that allows you to, well, run a tavern.

The game hasn't had a huge number of reviews in the press, though they've all been positive, and it has thousands of "Very Positive" user reviews on Steam, so it seems this will be worth a look if you're a genre fan.
