In an interesting twist, it seems as though RGG Studio — the Japanese developer behind the Yakuza / Like a Dragon series — has signed on with Xbox to promote its next game.
The intriguingly titled Stranger Than Heaven put in a fresh appearance during the Team in Green's latest third-party showcase, debuting a trailer made up of edited gameplay sequences.
It confirms that the historical adventure will take place across five different time periods and five Japanese cities. So this is starting to seem like a pretty ambitious undertaking.

Having said that, we're still not really sure what to make of this one — the combat's oddly weighty and contextual, unlike the action of the Yakuza games — but the good news is that we won't have to wait long to see more.
Indeed, the Xbox connection doesn't stop here: there's going to be a dedicated deep dive for Stranger Than Heaven happening on the 6th May, in which Xbox will present the project. Hmmm.
To be clear, Stranger Than Heaven is still coming to PS5, but we do think it's worth highlighting just how chummy SEGA seems to be with Microsoft's gaming division these days.
Anyway, what do you think of Stranger Than Heaven? Are you looking forward to seeing more? Watch where you're swinging that butcher's knife in the comments section below.
