GACHIAKUTA's PS5 Game Looks a Lot More Zenless Zone Zero Than Your Average Anime Fighter 1

What madness is this?! An anime adaptation that’s not an arena fighter?! That can’t be…

COM2US has showcased the first footage of its upcoming GACHIAKUTA adaptation, which is coming to the PS5 on an unannounced date in the future.

And the footage reveals a character action experience more akin to Zenless Zone Zero than your typical Dragon Ball-style arena fighter.

In the video descriptions, the dev says it’s aiming for “fast-paced, dynamic battles that bring each character’s unique personality from the anime to life”.

We especially love the animations of Riyo, who uses a gigantic pair of scissors to fight with.

You can check out all of the new footage below:

The full game will follow the story of the anime, but will incorporate online co-op and new scenarios along the way.

It’s being described as a “survival action RPG”, and it does sound like there’ll be extraction elements in the full release.

Here’s some of the blurb, taken from title’s Steam page:

“The polluted zone and No Man's Land of the Pit are filled with dangerous trash beasts, outlaws, and discarded objects. Enter hazardous areas and defeat your enemies. Secure valuable objects and return safely to headquarters. The experience gained in battle and the objects you collect contribute to character growth and expanded combat styles. Survive the relentless speed and constant tension.”

There’s still a lot more for us to learn about this game, then, but the combat animations do at least look interesting for now.

We’ll be honest, we’ve not read or watched GACHIAKUTA, so we’re not familiar with the source material at all.

But in the wake of low effort tie-ins like the highly disappointing Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash, this does at least appear to have had some effort put into it.
