Assassin's Creed Unity PS5

Ubisoft has revealed the next Assassin's Creed game to receive a 60 frames-per-second patch on PS5 will be Assassin's Creed Unity.

The update will go live tomorrow, 5th March 2026, and will allow the game to run at 60FPS when played in backwards compatibility on PS5. This is just the latest entry in the series to receive such support, with past games like Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Assassin's Creed Origins, and Assassin's Creed Syndicate also updated with support.

"We know some of you have been waiting for it for a long time, so get ready to re-experience 18th Century Paris and Arno's fancy parkour moves with more smoothness on consoles," said head of content Jean Guesdon.

At launch, Assassin's Creed Unity was a technical disaster. It's been fixed in the years since, and now this PS5 update will ensure it runs better than ever on consoles.

These issues heavily affected our PS4 review at the time, as we said "there's a great game buried somewhere beneath an unforgivable amount of technical issues, from annoying glitches to frustrating crashes". 12 years later, it'll be much easier to experience that great game.
