A couple of years ago, the Backyard Sports series made a sudden return, and it now seems publisher Playground Productions is readying up a brand new game.
Backyard Baseball is being revived in a fully 3D entry, with the intro sequence showing the transition to a new dimension:
Developed by Mega Cat Studios, this new game aims to capture the same charm as the old titles fans love while throwing in more modern gameplay.
Backyard Baseball is an all-ages baseball game featuring a cast of kids playing the sport, well, in their backyard.
The new game will feature 11 remastered stadiums, 24 teams, 30 characters, and six game modes. You'll be able to use a variety of power-ups, engage accessibility features, play tutorials, and unlock more characters and rewards.
It's due for release in July 2026, and is coming to PC and consoles, which appears to include PlayStation per the game's website.
