Epic Games has announced a new, limited-time game mode for its everything game, Fortnite.

Crossing over with the battle royale party game Fall Guys, the new mode is named Crown Jam. It's a 3v3 competitive arcade sport, and no, we don't know why it isn't called Ball Guys either.

Crown Jam sees two teams of three enter an arena with the aim of scoring more goals than the opponent.

You can tackle other players, and use various power-ups and items to get the edge on the other team. The official announcement describes the mode as a cross between basketball, football, and an obstacle course.

Of course, there are rewards for competing in this mode that you can use across other parts of Fortnite, like Back Blings and other cosmetics.

You'll be able to play Crown Jam starting 23rd January 2026, but it's not here for long, ending on 9th February.

We presume if it's popular enough, Epic might reintroduce it as a more permanent fixture.
