There’s been a distinct lack of Grasshopper Manufacture over the past few years, but thank goodness rockstar director Suda51 and his team has returned.

Romeo Is a Dead Man is being described as an uber-violent sci-fi escapade, filled with gory action, space time continuums, and a whole slew of other zany ideas.

Combat is a blend between third-person shooting and character action, and according to community manager James Mountain on the PS Blog, this is the most gory effort yet from the veteran studio.

He explained: “Romeo swaps between guns and swords, using his enemies’ own power against them to absolutely annihilate the evil hordes in this peak example of full-on bloody action, featuring ridiculously clever level design in which you’ll be jumping back and forth between the real-world subspace, and white-hot battles cathartic enough to collapse the universe itself!”

It looks and sounds like something really special, with a release date slated for 2026.
