Elden Ring Nightreign players have turned up in their droves for the recently released PS5, PS4 expansion The Forsaken Hollows, with FromSoftware confirming the DLC has sold over two million copies.
In a social media post, the developer shared the news in a graphic with the caption: "In the deepest recesses of Limveld, valour shall prevail. For every Nightfarer who joined the hunt against the Dreglord, we offer our immense gratitude."
The only slight caveat is a lot of these players will have already bought their access to the expansion at release, instead of upon its announcement. The DLC was bundled in with the Deluxe Edition, which was only £13 / $15 more expensive than the base version. These much pricier versions are actually the more popular option to buy at launch or during the pre-order phase.

The big draw of The Forsaken Hollows expansion is the introduction of two new character classes: the Undertaker and the Scholar. There's also a new Shifting Earth event and extra bosses to face, but this content is more of an addition to the base game than a new way to play.
Earlier this year, it was confirmed Elden Ring Nightreign had sold five million copies. Therefore, a considerable portion of its audience has returned to the online game for this DLC.
It's presumed this is the last major update for Elden Ring Nightreign, as FromSoftware continues work on The Duskbloods for Nintendo Switch 2 and any unannounced projects it has going on. Have you been playing The Forsaken Hollows? Share your impressions so far in the comments below.

Hopefully they don't forget about single player experiences due to the success of this game!
This is like if a DLC received its own DLC.
@Chip-Douglas Not a chance of that happening, ER sold 30m and Nightreign 5m. Its had a great return for them but they ain't giving up the single player stuff for it.
@ilyn Remember that Duskbloods is also PvP oriented, so I'm still little worried about their future projects...
@ilyn Yeah they would be silly not to in fairness 🤔
@Oram77 It is but I imagine that it will do less numbers than nightreign as a Switch 2 only release. I wouldn#t be surprised if they have another project in the works as these all feel very much like side projects.
Just picked the deluxe edition up for £20, I thought I'd I could get a few hours out of it I'd say it was worth it.
Three night lords down and I'm still going. Didn't expect to like a online offering from fromsoft but this has really got me excited for what duskblood could be.
This is how you develop and release a dlc, and all other developers should be forced to take notes. People come crawling out of the woodwork to buy it by the millions, and yet there’s not a single added trophy in sight. Anyone who invested time and effort to obtain the platinum can tackle this at their leisure, if they even want to, without worrying their hard earned trophy progress was artificially knocked down from 100%. Those with other time sensitive games to work on can carry on without any added anxiety, and those looking forward to this can hop in right away all the same.
Platform holders should ideally put all dlc trophies in separate SKU’s for this exact reason, or else finally allow users to permanently remove games with partially completed trophies from their accounts (not just those at precisely 0%).
@Balaam_ this rant came out of nowhere but I agree haha
This game was a huge surprise for me. I thought I would hate it but I absolutely dig it.
And the DLC has so many surprises (at least from what I’ve come across so far). Not just in the new shifting earth and characters but how they’ve modified stuff in the main map.
Classic fromsoft to totally undersell what they are selling (can’t think of any other developer that does this consistently)
The DLC is pretty good. I do wish there were some new weapons added, but the characters are fun to play as and I'm happy that Artorias is back as a boss.
To those who have played this: is single player feasible and/or fun? I participated in the demo before release but would more than likely want to play single player most of the time and am not sure I want to put down $55 for a subpar experience.
Bought the Deluxe day one and got the Plat way back, not much of a desire to go back if I’m being honest. Loved my time with it, but, eh. Ran its course for me.
