Ahead of the game's release next week on the 2nd October, developer Sucker Punch has dropped the Ghost of Yotei soundtrack — or at least a large chunk of it — on music streaming platforms.
Now, understandably, plenty of players will want to hear these tracks for the first time in-game, but there's also nothing wrong with wanting a taster of what's to come.
The soundtrack is currently made up of 22 songs, all of which are composed by Tomo Otowa, who's brought music to all kinds of games and movies throughout his career.

In short, it's a fantastic collection of tone-setting tracks. Much of the music is based around traditional Japanese instruments, but there's an abundantly clear focus on making it all sound like the kind of music you'd hear in a Western.
Given that Ghost of Yotei takes place across what is essentially a lawless wilderness, it's a theme that works perfectly — especially when you throw Atsu's quest for revenge and nothing but revenge into the mix.
Will you be giving the Ghost of Yotei soundtrack a quick listen ahead of the title's release? Or are you holding off for the game itself? Pluck some shamisen strings in the comments section below.
