As promised by developer GSC Game World, Update 1.6 has arrived for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
Of course, the open world title isn't actually out yet on PS5, but it's still nice to see what improvements await PlayStation players when it does release on the 20th November.
Titled 'Night of the Hunter', the patch introduces night vision goggles and other gameplay additions like a laser sight and even an offset aiming option.
But you could argue that the more interesting changes are hidden beneath the game's surface. NPC AI has been given a bit of an overhaul, for example, making their behaviour more dynamic overall — and the loot system has been rebalanced.

The full patch notes for this one can be found on the game's official Steam page.
It's worth mentioning that these improvements are just some of what GSC Game World has in store. Previously, the studio outlined a huge list of additions — including a full-on engine rework — which should still be arriving before the year is out.
STALKER 2's also getting a whole bunch of PS5-specific support, covering full DualSense functionality and more. Again, we expect the game to be in a very healthy state for its PS5 debut in just a couple of months.
