Do you remember the old days of greasy arcade cabinets with printed command lists on them? Well, how about something less sticky but no less exciting for Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls?
Ahead of its playable debut at Evo this weekend – and in the aftermath of Arc System Works’ awesome gameplay breakdown earlier this week – we now have command lists for all six of the fighter’s featured characters so far.
This includes all Unique Moves, Skills, Super Skills, and Ultimate Skills.
Remember, there are two ways to execute most Skills in the game: the more accessible quick input will require fewer button presses but will deal less damage, while the more traditional motion input will require more precision but will deal more damage. You can choose to play your own way.
This is a four-on-four fighter, but as revealed this week, you’ll need to gradually assemble your team through stage transitions, throws, and KOs. Once you’ve got your full roster, you’ll be able to call in assists which will add projectiles, anti-airs, counters, and combos to your arsenal.
So this has the depth of a tag-team fighter, but it’s a bit different and it won’t force you to learn each individual character in order to compete. While you can swap between any assembled characters at any time, you can choose to main a specific superhero if you choose.
Our takeaway from everything we’ve seen of this game so far: flexibility. It looks like it’s built with all the high-level depth of a pro-level fighting game, but it appears to also have considered the casuals who just want to hit some buttons and watch crazy things happen on screen.
