The long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong will be playable on the showfloor at Gamescom 2025, it's been revealed. The game will be part of the Xbox booth and playable on PC or the ROG Xbox Ally X.
With today's confirmation of a playable build in public, there's a good chance the indie sequel may receive a release date during Gamescom Opening Night Live, which takes place before the expo opens on 19th August. We know Team Cherry plans to put the title out before the Holiday 2025 season, so a final launch date in the next few months sounds realistic.

Gamescom takes place in Cologne, Germany so you'll need to make your way there if you are desperate to play the build before Hollow Knight: Silksong launches. It's confirmed for PS5 and PS4.
PlayStation isn't attending the expo for the sixth year in a row, but Xbox is putting together a booth containing more than 20 games. Other playable titles of proper note include Borderlands 4, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, PowerWash Simulator 2, and Super Meat Boy 3D. Our next look at Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will also be part of Geoff Keighley's live show.
Will you make your way to Gamescom to play this public pre-launch build of Hollow Knight: Silksong? Let us know in the comments below.

Eh. I gave up on this actually happening years ago.
Too little too late, I’m afraid.
You watch this game not live up to all the hype and it just a 7/10 experience...
@Oram77 I mean, they’ve only been working on it for six years, they can’t be blamed for rushing it!
This is gonna be one of the last big ps4 games.
I’d be shocked if this is anything but completely exceptional
I'm still excited for the game, I love Hollow Knight.
I think this will be excellent. Whether it lives up to the almost impossible hype is a much harder challenge.
I played it at EGX in 2019. Insane to think its taken this long.
Much like Cyberpunk I am expecting the game to not be good.
If it ends up being good like Cyberpunk eventually became then great. If not then I haven't wasted years excited for a game that end sup being bad. Might play Hollow Knight once Silksong actually gets a release date
