Gearbox Software announced today that Borderlands 4 has gone gold, meaning work on the 1.0 version of the game is now complete and can be pressed to discs.
With a huge slate of DLC already confirmed and years of post-launch support, work is far from done for the developer, as it'll also presumably be preparing a day-one patch to go alongside the base game. However, for now, what ships for PS5 on 12th September 2025 is complete.
Priced at £69.99 / $69.99, the game is available to pre-order physically and digitally on the PS Store now, with more expensive options offering access to the post-launch expansions. The Deluxe Edition grants you free access to four DLC packs (when they release), while the Super Deluxe Edition offers six.
Last month, we published our Borderlands 4 Preview coverage, which was based on three hours of play from the early sections of the FPS. "It's fine-tuning the familiar formula to make those weapon drops more satisfying, and the act of shooting them even more pleasurable and dynamic," we said. "Having played two sections of the game across a three-hour preview event, it is this delicate balance that should see Borderlands 4 return to the heights of the second game."
