Splitgate 2 has now officially released, leaving its open beta phase and fully launching on PS5 today, 6th June 2025.
A launch trailer has been released to celebrate that fact, and it marks the debut of a big new feature for the free-to-play shooter: a Battle Royale mode.
However, it has a bit of a twist; the Battle Royale map actually comprises five maps, interconnected via portals you can hop between.
It supports 60 players — 15 teams of four — in a typical last team standing format (only with those portals of course). Mid-match events such as portal shutdowns will come into play to force teams to think on their feet.

It certainly sounds ambitious, and bolsters the game's varied range of arena-based multiplayer modes.

I love how the CEO walks off all cocky with that coolguy bat swagger, as if he hadn’t just “bestowed” us with a mediocre f2p shooter
At first I liked guy's attitude but can't help to agree with this comment: Wants so bad to be next Joseph Fares.
