Ubisoft has revealed its next big content update for Assassin's Creed Shadows will go live next week on 25th June 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
This will be title update 1.0.6, and the French publisher teases it'll contain a new questline, fresh characters, and a batch of quality of life improvements. This will follow on from last month's update, which handed players a Dead by Daylight quest and some parkour upgrades.
A new difficulty mode is also coming in the patch: nightmare difficulty. Analysing the accompanying picture, it appears the content drop will include a new ally to fight alongside Naoe and Yasuke as well.
These free updates have arrived in accordance with Ubisoft's content roadmap for the first year of support. According to the timeline, the first main expansion, Claws of Awaji, is still on the way, though there's no confirmed release date just yet.

Returning would imply that I ever went there in the first place.
Absolutely done with this lackluster game. I even got the season pass, but won't be returning. Its a shame, as I'd been waiting for an AC Japan game forever, but it just failed to deliver.
I'm done with this incredible game too. But I will be expecting the expansion to drop to go back.
Already 100% completed it. Some really cool missions.
The only thing it needed was more Animus stuff.
Nightmare difficulty? As long as it isn’t permadeath I’ll take it on. Expert was just easy.
I will come back when they drop the expansion not now
@Icey664 You bought the season pass? Interesting considering it doesn't have one.
Please, please let me map attacks to face buttons without breaking the whole thing. It was possible in all previous games, why not now?
@DennisReynolds
Whatever they call it, expansion/collector's edition. I assumed it was a season pass like previous games.
I spent 115 in this brilliant game unfortunately I'll be playing Death Stranding 2 on release but once the expansion drops I'll be back.
From what I gather reading/listening to comments: Main problem with the game is missions are like MMO missions more than crafted story missions. So adding updates like these are much more frequent and easy I presume since there is no need for extra care.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag, the last good one, urgently needs to get the remake/remaster treatment. The money's on the table.
