Vampire Survivors is huge, and naturally, it has spawned many similar "bullet heaven" action games in the last couple of years.
Just one of these is Soulstone Survivors, from developer Game Smithing. It's been in early access on Steam since November 2022, and in that time, it's sold over 1 million copies and stands at a Very Positive rating. Now, it's finally approaching its full release — and that includes a PS5 version.
Set to release on 17th June 2025, the game is broadly the same style as Vampire Survivors, but with a very different art style and some unique wrinkles to its gameplay.

Your attacks happen automatically as you move around each map, taking down hordes of enemies and collecting gemstones for XP.
As you level up, you can choose from various passive stat buffs as well as powerful abilities, stacking things up until you become an overpowered force.
Your chosen power-ups can have effects on each other, and creating a build that complements and enhances itself seems to be a big part of the strategy.
Outside of the runs, you have a vast tree of permanent upgrades to chip away at, 22 characters to unlock, new starting weapons to craft, and more.
If you're curious to try it out, there's a playable demo on PS Store right now.

After playing Vampire Survivors in coop I can't play these games solo anymore. But I wish everyone who can a great time^^
Wow, thought this one will stay on PC forever. Glad to see more those indie games coming to PS.
Speaking about Soulstone Survivors this one is good with decent progression, different classes, build variety and other cool features. But just like VS and other similar rogue-lites it gets repetitive and grindy at some point. I've warned ya'!
After spending a good chunk of 2024 playing Vampire Survivors, I don't think downloading this demo is a particularly good idea... Yet I still might.
Why have cotton when we have silk?
Getting this. If VS released in the 80/90's, it would be a game everyone knows like Mario, castlevania, Sonic,...
Will definitely give the demo a go. I just bought Entropy survivors in a sale, which is pretty good. The one I’m waiting for though is Yet another Zombie survivors which has a great demo.
@naruball yeah I spent too much time in vampire survivors without realising it..not sure if I should try the demo because I know full well ill lose another 100+ hours..
@Northern_munkey it's like contemplating eating that cake that you know you'll enjoy, but also know it's bad for you in the long run.
Looks like a blast. Not much has touched VS in it's genre.
@naruball but what a cake...
@Northern_munkey exactly
