It's the first full week of 2026, and already there's a video game presentation to watch.
The inaugural New Game+ Showcase is happening this week, on 8th January 2026:
As you can see in the announcement post, this new show, put together by streamers and content creators, is promising to shine a light on 45 games.
We don't know what they are, but presumably the show is platform agnostic, so it could well be worth a watch for PS5 users.
The only clue about the showcase is that Don't Nod appears to be taking part, reposting the announcement. It's unclear if the team is teasing more info about Aphelion or something entirely new.

Anyway, you'll be able to watch on the New Game+ Showcase YouTube or Twitch, and it gets started at the following times:
- North America: 1pm PST / 2pm MST / 3pm CST / 4pm EST
- UK/Ire: 9pm GMT
- Europe: 10pm CET / 11pm EET
- Asia/Oceania: 6am (Fri) JST / 5am (Fri) AWST / 8am (Fri) AEDT

It's honestly pretty cool to see a new game showcase pop up, hopefully it's good and they reveal some neat games.
New 3D Sonic game with the current voice cast.
I know we don’t know what this is, but we must have some idea, right? Like, is this mostly going to be Steam games or mobile games? Doesn’t feel like a console thing, or a big company thing, more like a small indie thing.
Hey, any "competition" against Geoff Keighley is very welcome (I'm not criticizing his events, i just think we need more platforms to announce games). The more options we have to watch showcases, the better
Also, i like that PS has this automatic timezone converter thingy, it makes things so much easier for people who live outside of Europe or North America
I'm betting 500 that Bloodborne 2 will be announced!
Now on a serious note, I do wonder what they'll be showing 🤔
I imagine mostly indies but I'll definitely watch it.
conspiracy theory: January 8 is a Thursday...
Thursday is the day of the week that Sony usually has State of Plays...
Sony loves announcing relatively big things out of the blue on a random day in the middle of the week...
January 8 is written 8/1 in the UK. 8/1 -> 81 -> Bl -> bloodborne 2 confirmed.
I posted a link in the Chit Chat Thread of the forums on Friday about this. Luke Stevens is one of the people behind it and did a quick video explaining what to expect.

I don't have any expectations about this, but I'll pop in afterwards for a list of the announced games.
Will Cyberpunk 2077 finally get a New Game+?
Eh see what I did there?
I’ll see myself exit
Anything is better than the paid advertisement Geoff slop
Don't Nod is a great studio.
PS Plus has enabled me to play through their two recent games Banishers and Lost Tapes. Excellent games!
I’m assuming this will be a lot of smaller titles, indies, PC exclusives etc.
But I welcome it!
This’ll be interesting, almost feels like picking up a games magazine and flicking through - you might see something big, or a lot of smaller things that just slipped your notice before.
@EfYI Lost Records was so good and far better IMO than LIS: Double Exposure. Hell it was more of a LIS game than DE. I can't believe how badly they dropped the ball with DE it was so average let alone binning Chloe what were they thinking? Or drinking...
@danzoEX Damn if that happens I'll be drawn back in. I'm almost hoping not with the back catalogue and more games incoming.
Always room for showcasing more games. I am intrigued by this as it's a completely new format, and creator led.
This is the teaser trailer for it that suggests Crimson Desert and others will be there

Also I don't get all the Geoff hate, he has tirelessly worked to give games and gaming more visibility for decades and i'm sure he'd advocate for this too.
