Believe it or not, juggernaut turn-based RPG Honkai: Star Rail will celebrate its second anniversary next month – and it’ll be marking the occasion with an abundance of free pulls.
Fans will be able to earn 20 Star Rail Special Passes just for logging in, while you’ll be able to pick a companion of choice to send you a further 1,600 Stellar Jades. That’s a total of 30 free pulls, which will get you well on your way to your next 5-Star character.
But there’s more!
You’ll be able to pick from one of two free characters: Ruan Mei or Luocha. The former has been a mainstay in our team ever since she released, so we reckon we’ll be upping her Eidolon.
While there’s a lot to dig into with v3.2 – including the continuation of the Trailblaze Mission in Amphoreus and the arrival of two 5-Stars in Castorice and Anaxa – we’re almost more intrigued by the game’s forthcoming roadmap.
As previously hinted, HoYoverse will be buffing some older characters, starting with this author’s personal favourite Kafka, as well as Silver Wolf, Blade, and Jingliu. These improvements will be released alongside v3.4 later in the year.
For those unsure why the developer is doing this, it’s to help make those past cast members relevant again, and we can’t wait to see what kind of upgrades are unleashed.
Similarly, the studio’s also hinted that it’ll be implementing various animated shorts into the game itself, potentially improving the delivery of the overall storytelling, which has been criticised quite robustly of late.
And it’s announced an epilogue for the Penacony storyline, which will release after the events of Amphoreus in v3.8.
Back to the topic of v3.2, there’ll be a new multiplayer minigame which will see you bouncing seals around a stage, attempting to score points off your opponents. This will have an online multiplayer component, and it’ll be made available to play permanently, beyond this particular patch.
