Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is the first game to be unveiled at the 2024 Game Awards, and it looks like it could be a winner.
Published by Dotemu and developed by The Game Kitchen — the team behind the Blasphemous series — this winds back the clock on Koei Tecmo's historic action franchise, taking it back to its roots as a side-scrolling 2D action platformer.
The visuals look fantastic, and as fans of Blasphemous can attest, the action itself should be tight and brutal, just like Ninja Gaiden should be.
It's heading to PS5 and PS4 in the summer of 2025. Are you excited for this one? Tell us in the comments section below.

I hope it's a straight side scroller and not a Metroidvania
Interesting but it's still not a new 3d Ninja Gaiden game with Ryu. Still waiting for that...
@nyr2k2 it is looking like a Metroidvania from the looks of it. Would love to see more of it. Looks nice.
This looks sick af!
But who's the protag?
Game of the show right here! Holy sh*t!!
These guys know how to make a game ☑️
Amazing. I'm still a sucker for a rad Ninja game.
Best looking game of the show. Excited for it.
I was so excited for that trailer. KT still remembers Ninja Gaiden is alive.
This show was really good.
@TruestoryYep i firmly believe that if Phantom Blade Zero has the success necessary and people have in mind that it is an action game (like NG and DMC) and not a "soulslike" it will put weight in the idea of people open for more 3d Ninja Gaiden.
Now this game will be another way to put weight in that idea.
Nice, I didn't expect this, after street of rage 4, tmnt and power ranger and now we got this, it's a pretty good day for old school 2D gamers 😃
Damn that looks amazing!
This looks incredible. Blasphemous is fantastic, and Ninja Gaiden is one of my all time favorite franchises. This seems like a match made in heaven.
I love 2D games but Ninja Gaiden is one series where I 100% prefer 3D. The only reason I'm going to give this a chance is because Dotemu is involved and that company hits way, way, way more than it misses.
Confident it's in good hands, after playing Blasphemous, but what I wouldn't give for a fully 3D, Ninja Gaiden action game. After the success of Space Marines 2, I think it's clear that people are ready for some more PS3 era style games. No more overblown budgets and unnecessarily constant cutscenes- (looking at you GoW Ragnarok and FF XVI) just some solid, satisfying, gameplay, with lots of options to get creative with how you want to cut through the hordes of enemies ahead of you.
Looks amazing with a amazing soundtrack.
This is high on my list. Hope you can also play as Ryu.
Blasphemous team's working on it? No wonder it looks so damn good.
