One Piece Odyssey isn't that far off, so it's about time that we got some decent gameplay footage. This latest trailer gives us more insight into the title's structure, with Luffy and his crew taking on a couple of side quests and fighting some turn-based battles.
While the side quests look rather...uninspired (gather ten desert nuts!), the world does at least seem fun to roam around in. Here's hoping that the main story is enough to keep us hooked as well.

Jokes aside I think this would be a good Palette cleanser after Ragnorok. But I might wait longer to get it as I dont want to play this and Octopath Traveler 2 back to back. Hoping to break it up with Crisis Core Reunion after Octopath, then This game.
I'm gonna make usopp, nami and chopper the best straw hats for the lols.
This game seems way better then I expected. The persona-like combat looks very cool for me while graphs, music and exploration seems pretty good too.
Nice, Super excited for this one. This is my Yakuza like a Dragon for the year.
But will try it out on SteamDeck like Soul Hackers 2. I have tons of great games on my PS5 list already and turn based jRPGs are perfect as a handheld game.

I don't know anything about One Piece but this does look like a big solid JRPG, albeit somehow also feeling a bit generic. I think as these JRPGs and anime games get better looking it's more and more apparent that they don't have the budget to improve the animation along with the modeling.
It reminds me a lot in looks and palette to DQXI, which I mostly loved.

@RudeAnimat0r yeah most folks that play JRPGs def notice the similarities and just overall feel of this game to that of DQ XI.
I'm all for it. It'll def be the first game I'll play in 2023.

I know I'll love this game. I'm not expecting it to be the next FFVII or Chrono Trigger, it'll just be a modest, straight forward JRPG set in the One Piece world and that sounds great to me.
Great trailer, though I still won't be buying the game at full price.
January is already booked between Dead Space Remake and Forspoken.
I maybe in the minority with these games, but anime inspired games, all I want is for the game to be exactly like the shows in its look. Im not to keen on the let's try make them 3d looking but keep the anime look. It looks off.
Example like how South park stick of truth and fractured butt hole, looked exactly like I was playing an episode.
Thats exactly what I want from any game which is about a cartoon or anime.
Hopefully I make sense hahaha.
@Bez87 Sadly trying to market a 2D anime game to the general audience is very hard, which is why I think they go with 3D?
