First Contact Entertainment has announced it's developing a sequel to PSVR game Firewall Zero Hour. Called Firewall Ultra, it's being made exclusively for PSVR2 and will take advantage of every feature the headset has. A quick teaser trailer can be viewed above, which features a small glimpse at gameplay.

Running at a 4K resolution and using HDR, it'll have a 110-degree FOV, eye tracking, finger touch detection, foveated rendering, short load times, and support for the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. Over on the PlayStation Blog, it's confirmed the sequel will run on dedicated servers and also include a separate PvE experience.

Many of the maps from the first game will be returning, but they've been touched up with new areas and textures. "There will also be new locations and contractors, but it wouldn’t be a Firewall game without the weaponry and equipment, which also feature a much deeper level of customization," said community manager Frank Marm. Firewall Ultra will then be supported after launch with new characters, maps, and weapons. Firewall Zero Hour was supported for an impressive 10 seasons, so the team clearly knows what it's doing in the live service department.

"Finally, we’d like to thank all our wonderful community members. From meetups to international tournaments, the community for Firewall Zero Hour far surpassed any of our expectations," Marm signed off saying. "For many, Firewall Zero Hour is much more than just a game. It’s a virtual family get together, it’s a place to make new friends, or it’s an escape to another world from the comfort of their own living room."

More gameplay will be shared soon. Are you excited by Firewall Ultra? Show your tactical side in the comments below.
