Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires has a new gameplay trailer, alongside news that a playable demo is coming soon. The hack and slash action-strategy title is set to launch on the 15th February for both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. In Japan, however, it releases in just a few weeks, on the 23rd December. So, if you're eager to learn more about the game well before its arrival in the West, we're sure that there'll be plenty of impressions going around later this month.
And the aforementioned demo is probably going to help with that as well. You'll be able to make your own custom characters (who can be transferred into the full release) and sample some of the title's new gameplay elements, which involve storming enemy castles and utilising various tactical commands.
As always, though, we're just hoping that Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires does something to restore our faith in Koei Tecmo's series. The disappointment of Dynasty Warriors 9 is still difficult to forget.

I’ll give the demo a shot to see if it’s better than the last, but I’m unlikely to purchase if release is Feb with Dying light2 , HFW and then Gran Turismo at start of March lol
Im 100% certain that i wont buy it on release. Dynasty Warriors games are fun but at max 2/3 of the price. The pack these thungs full of MT withceven missions so i rather wait. And beaidea that there are so many better games to get first.
Empires is my preferred flavour of Dynasty, but it's always been a series that I want to love more than I do.
I'll give it ago, I know it goes back to the original gameplay style, however I hope some of the DW9 costumes are an option, character design was a strong point in the dreaded release.
Additionally, I hope they do a Ryza outfit for Wang Yuanji.
It looks like Dynasty Warriors is still trapped in ps3 mode. It would be amazing if you took Ghosts of Tsushima graphic style with Dynasty Warriors like game play. Like @ThomasHL said I'll want to love it more than I will.
@AndyKazama the combat is the same as DW9 sadly.
@QBGaming12 I'll try the demo. If it sucks, oh well. We got the old school Warriors Orochi 4 at least.
If 10 is open world with 9 combat, they've clearly not listened to anyone.
@AndyKazama Warrior's Orochi 4 was terrible lol, WOU3 Ultimate eas the best Orochi game. I do get what you mean though because it was the last game with old school combat.
If you watch gameplay videos it still has the flow combat but the 4 buttons are at the bottom of the screen(smaller) instead of taking up half the screen like they did in DW9 lol.
