Remember Project Awakening? Publisher Cygames announced the game all the way back in 2018, and it feels like we're still no closer to playing the action RPG. It's always looked visually stunning in any trailers or footage, but the title remains elusive. We're not even sure about platforms; officially, it's only listed for PlayStation 4, but PS5 is looking more and more likely. Anyway, thanks to a presentation about its open world engine and technology, we have a snippet of new in-engine footage.
Viewable through here, the short video emphasises the environment itself, which looks incredibly lush and dense. The natural forested area shown looks super impressive, and the final shot overlooking the cliffs and waterfalls is beautiful.
While it doesn't give us any proper gameplay or any clues towards when we can play ourselves, it's at least a reminder that it's coming. It seems Cygames has the tech chops, but will the game itself deliver? Hopefully we won't be kept waiting much longer. Are you excited for Project Awakening? What do you think of this new footage? Gods I hope this one survives development! This is one project I really want to see more and more of. Feels like it's been on my wishlist forever.

I'm sure this will look great but I'm feeling burnt out with all of these open world foresty type games. Rural environments just aren't as interesting as they used to be for me because I can name so many that have been executed really well.
I really want to see how this gen handles urban cities full of advanced NPC animations, AI, cars, planes etc.
Been keeping an eye out for this since that cool video with the protagonist taking on the giant lizard. Been quiet for a while, so glad to see it’s still a thing.

I always confuse this game with Deep Down
Looks great but I need to see it in action. If it's a Souls-esq game, it's a pass. If it's more like Witcher, it's a solid maybe.
I'm not excited about tech demo anymore, I only want to see gameplay.

I'd love to see morrowind and oblivion remade like that wow cant wait to get lost in the next lot of rpg games for this generation.

This game will never release. I believe its to technically ambitious for this team to release a full blown game.

It would look a lot better if the video wasn't compressed to near DVD quality - 696p is not enough to showcase something like this.
@Atreus97 I doubt it'd be any different from any gta. Or assassins creed. Just some AI walking around, maybe a few groups talking to each other, cars driving by, etc
I wish developers would at least have their games halfway done before deciding to announce anything
