Here's some bad news and some good news for you. Evil Dead: The Game, the adaptation of the Sam Raimi classic that looks surprisingly good, is no longer releasing this year. Initially pencilled in for 2021 when it was announced, it's now been revealed the title will be pushed back to February 2022.
However, it sounds like the developers will be making the most of this extra time. Explaining the situation via the game's official Twitter account, the delay will allow "extra time for polish and to ensure this is the ultimate Evil Dead experience":
The thread continues to say that the extra time is allowing the team to "implement a single-player option that will let you enjoy the game when you are without your co-op compadres", which is a welcome inclusion.
So, you won't be playing Evil Dead: The Game this Halloween, but it sounds like it'll be a more robust experience when it eventually arrives in February. Are you looking forward to this one? Hail to the king in the comments section below.

And this is my "boom stick!"
Had loads of Evil Dead 3 samples on my Amiga for Worms!
Pass. Co-op and multiplayer based games are lame but when they allow you to play the game solo it’s just as bad. Single player offline or no buy from me
Hail to the king, baby! So looking forward to this.
This'll be a major disappointment imho.
Better start working on my backlog because 2022 is going to be a heck of a year for gaming. Seems like I got into this hobby at the perfect time.
Still miffed that this wasn't just a single player game period. Such a waste of an incredible IP 😕
@mrtennis1990 I agree about 2022 being a golden year for games - but mainly due to the rona postponements.
I still think this game will fall flat.
I played an evil dead game back on the ps2 where Ash time traveled to different versions of Dearborn to take care of those darned Kandarian demons. Was it stupid? Yes, but heck it was fun. May give this a try depending on what that single player component looks like.
Love Evil Dead and I’ll give this one a try but.. hopes aren’t high. Looks polished enough but the asymmetrical multiplayer games never work out long term. Gotta love those one liners though
Hopefully they delay it again in order to strip out the multiplayer completely.
I like single player games so I have serious doubts about this game. But I will keep a open mind and wait to see how the single player mode works out.
@Colour @Keyblade-Dan @hypnotoad @kingbreww Sadly as long as the multiplayer is still the main focus, playing solo will most likely not be a dedicated separate fleshed out campaign with a real story.
@KidBoruto yep. Another game I’ll be completely passing on
@KidBoruto Which is why I won't be getting this game...not groovy
@hypnotoad
Not really an opinion when you havent even played it.
