Iconic eighties law enforcer RoboCop is to get his own game, courtesy of publisher Nacon and developer Teyon. The title’s not due until 2023 and so details are scarce, but RoboCop: Rogue City will submerge you in the seedy streets of Old Detroit, where you’ll be armed with your trusty Auto-9 and years of experience on the force.
It’s a first-person shooter, which will likely follow in the robo-footsteps of Terminator: Resistance, which was also developed by Polish studio Teyon. “You have the power to decide how to fulfil prime directives in your own way, but as the story unfolds proceed with caution because corruption and greed know no limits,” the blurb teases.
You can check out the debut trailer above, but it effectively amounts to little more than a logo. No platforms are currently confirmed, but with a 2023 release date, we’re going to go out on a cybernetic limb and assume PlayStation 5 will be one of the targets.

Terminator was so bad, it made it fun to play. Recently got the platinum on the PS5. I’m going to imagine this is more of the same. I’m in. Haha.
Interesting... I always liked this franchise so we'll see I guess. Which version will they adapt though, the original or the reboot?
By the way, I have been following Terminator : Resistance, but the feedback on that game are all over the place. Some say it's a love letter to the franchise, others say it's a technical mess. Is there anyone here that played it on PS5 that could help?
After a quick read of the headline, I thought for a second the Tecmo beat m up series was going to have a special edition with Peter Weller on the new consoles
@Olmaz I would never recommend it to anyone. I forced myself to finish it. It’s like a PS2 game wrapped in a PS3 finish. But bad on all levels. But it did make me laugh quite a lot.

@SoulChimera I can enjoy a stupid and janky game if it's just good fun. Does Terminator require stealth though? I watched a video on YouTube that made it look like you needed to employ stealth tactics and I'm really not a fan of stealth in games.

I thought terminator resistance was a good game had a better plot than any of the recent terminator films yes it was basically a ps3 game but its was a good ps3 game
@Olmaz I played it on SX, but the last gen version. Was the only game I finished this year (up until Evil Within 2 last week). It's a good game if your a terminator fan. I could stare at terminator 3D models all day... I had it very cheap and I also knew I didn't had to expect great things. The music was amazing.

Don't know why companies release these details so early, why not wait till you have something to show first. I know GTA rumours are currently running around and saying 2026 but at least that will get ppl thinking I might have a go on GTA 5. I would much prefer companies leave it till it's around 10-12 months out before release and then slowly generate the hype.

@RubyCarbuncle I remember it quite well and thought it was great at the time. Quite wooden in reality, but the photomatching bit was ace and the sprite work quite good and, hell, I just loved Robocop. It's no The Untouchables, but was a good game for it's time that pushed the medium forward.

Luckily, I was born before Robocop released, but I certainly wasn't 18. So many f-bombs in that wonderful film!
I’ve got the Platinum for both PS4 and PS5 versions of Terminator but jeez, that was a crap game. Yes, if it’d been released in conjunction with the first film it’d no doubt have blown my mind but especially playing the so called Enhanced version I remembered how utterly bland and pathetic the whole thing was with terrible AI, awful character models and animation and gameplay so unimaginative and bland not even an army of Terminators could raise my pulse past nearly comatose! So I imagine this’ll be utterly terrible as well and ruin the potential of yet another classic film that could, in the right hands, make for a superb game. Dick, I’m very disappointed …
