You can play Gears of War 3 on a PlayStation 3. That is if you have the devkit associated with the console. After it was leaked over a year ago that Epic Games had tested getting the third iteration in Marcus Fenix's story up and running on a PS3, which was then confirmed to be real by the developer, the full game has now been released onto the internet. This marks the 10th anniversary of the data being built, with leaker PixelButts saying: "I no longer plan to release prototype game stuff after this, as this was the last one I was sitting on."
The reason the game can only run on PS3 devkits is that they contain more RAM than the systems released at retail. PixelButts (yes, really) says this version may be playable on the RPCS3 emulator in the future, but it doesn't boot beyond the title screen as of right now. The build was never designed for the public; it was instead merely a test of Unreal Engine 3 at the time.

Gears of war 1 is my reason to buy xbox 360 and 1080p lcd tv, I adored this series especially gears 1 & 2 š
I never play gears 3 though, at that time I already moved to ps3 for all of my console gaming.
I won a Gears 3 tournament on launch night and got the Gears 3 Xbox with the game. Good times. Darn shame the campaigns just arenāt what they used to be.
Just spent two solid month playing "The Last of Us" and It's an epic many more to play on the PS3 thanks to š š„ not touched another console in months.

Looks like people could soon play Days Gone and Horizon Zero Dawn on Xbox One and Series X/S thanks to the new Microsoft Edge for Xbox where thereās a trick to access your own entire Steam library. Itāll most likely be blocked though but hereās hoping it doesnāt.
God I miss the 360 days , so many great games that were just ahead of their time and released too soon - franchises were at their peak , Halo 3/ODST/Reach , Gears 1 , 2 , & 3 , COD MW1/2/3 , COD BO1/2 , L4D1/2 , Street Fighter 4 , Borderlands 2 ,Mortal Kombat 9 , MvC2/3 , Tekken Tag 2 , aaahh !
Sorry I got off topic but, on topic , Gears 3 is legendary , im happy to hear that the 3rd made its way to PS3 . Its a dream come true , even though that dream was almost 10 years ago , but if I had to pick which game it would've been , definitely 3. Gonna watch youtube videos of it later.
