Dying Light 2 PS5 PS4

Now that Dying Light 2 has a confirmed release date, it's time for all the pre-order rigmarole. The game is available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store right now for either PS5 or PS4, with three different digital editions available. It's the Ultimate Edition we'll be focusing on for the purpose of this article though, which confirms Techland has at least two pieces of DLC in the works. Purchasing this particular version grants you access to an "expansion pass with two extra stories" — something that shouldn't come as a surprise to fans of the first game.

Costing £87.99/$99.99, the Ultimate Edition includes everything the cheaper Deluxe Edition contains alongside crafting items, wallpapers, a digital comic, and a two-hour Night XP Boost. This all follows in the same footsteps as the original title and reinforces comments made by Techland more than a year ago. Dying Light: The Following was the first game's biggest expansion, but it was also supplemented with other content drops for a supremely impressive six years.

When we interviewed lead game designer Tymon Smektala all the way back in late 2019, he said: "I don't want to spill the beans too much but yes there will be huge expansions, and yes there will be a lot of additional drops, free content, additional missions, weapons, and gameplay mechanics that you will be able to get by just investing your time in Dying Light 2 and just being part of the community." This Expansion Pass seems to be the beginning of that promise.
