Ray tracing is being pushed as a PlayStation 5 feature, but it will also be present in the PS4 Pro version of Crysis Remastered. To be clear, while the concept is similar, this is software-based ray tracing made possible by the Crytek Engine – it’s different to the hardware-based ray tracing that’s a big part of Sony’s next-gen system.

Nevertheless, you can see the tech in action courtesy of the trailer embedded above. You’ll notice how it adds additional reflections to the ocean, as well as puddles on the ground. The title will also feature support for HDR televisions, so should be quite the looker when it launches 18th September – as it should, given the series’ history as a graphics benchmark.
