Who would have predicted that we’d see the return of Sackboy during Sony’s big PlayStation 5 presentation? The adorable mascot will mark his comeback with an all-new outing designed by Sumo Digital, and while it’s not necessarily a next-gen visual feast, this initial batch of assets reveals that the hero hasn’t shed his whimsical side while he’s been waiting in the wings.
“Sackboy returns in an all-new 3D adventure with a deeply immersive and expressive control scheme,” the release’s blurb reads. “Players can go on this epic platforming journey solo-style, or they can team up with friends for collaborative, chaotic multiplayer fun.” Are you looking forward to this one? I felt like Sumo Digital also paid a homage a Tearaway in this.
@kemosabii That game deserves more then it got.
Looking forward to a new game with Sackboy! Shame there’s no create mode but just glad they’re keeping him around!
We've reached a point where Sony are releasing more 3D platormers than Nintendo!
This looks like a fun Mario 3D World knockoff though, I'll be giving a crack.
Oh thank God! This! This looks like a game! Unlike all the other PS5 games I've seen so far, this one doesn't look like it's trying to force realism despite still obviously being video game graphics. This gives me hope that not every PS5 game is going to look the same!
The difference between the 4k trailers and the stream quality is night and day.
@kemosabii Tearaway is an incredible game !
Yes. Yes I will get this it looks great!
Great to see Sackboy back! Not meant as a dig to MM & the Dreams tool they've made,but missed this! Lets hope it gets suitable love from Sumo! Looks good so far!
@phil_j 100%! I wasn't too impressed till I re-watches them in 4k. Amazing

@Heavyarms55 This was far from the only one not doing that though.
@Orpheus79V Please, do give me your recommendations. And please, do not say Ratchet.

All of the games shown at the PS5 event that had non-realistic artstyles and weren't titled Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Also nearly half of the games shown.
