Set to launch on the 24th March, 'Immersive' mode is coming to Ghost Recon: Breakpoint as part of the game's new 'Ghost Experience' initiative. This is the next step in Ubisoft's efforts to overhaul Breakpoint following widespread criticism from players.
In short, Immersive strips Breakpoint of many divisive gameplay systems and mechanics. For starters, it does away with gear score entirely, so there's no need to loot everything you see and equip it so that your Ghost is constantly levelling up. It also removes other players from the game's farcical hub area.
On top of that, you're able to adjust various in-game options to suit your needs. You can play around with stamina and health regeneration to make things easier or harder, and you can even make it so every bullet that you take results in a wound. Sounds hardcore.
As far as we're concerned, this is definitely a step in the right direction. Breakpoint often struggles under the weight of systems -- like gear score -- that arguably shouldn't be in the game to begin with, so giving players the option of removing or customising the stuff they don't like seems like a good approach.
Do you play Breakpoint? Maybe you'll go back to the game once this update hits? Don't worry about loot in the comments section below.

Are AI companions on now with this update??
@Rick_Deckard Sadly not, I think Ubisoft has said they're still being worked on.
@ShogunRok Man, that's too bad. It has taken quite some time to get them in the game. Well, sigh
I bought this ages ago but still haven’t played it and won’t until they’ve sorted it out. As you say in the article, this is a step in the right direction, but I’m still not installing it until AI team mates are patched in.
Its nice too hear they try to fix it after how long now. Quite a rippoff if you payed full price. Liveservice the future of a terrible gameindustry. 😆
Well, this just revived my interest. As I've stated previously, the looter-shooter gear score elements were what stopped me buying it. I enjoyed the base gameplay in the beta - it was all the other crap which put me off.
the big question now is, will it be playable offline?... if so i hope they rerelease the game on disc with the immersive mode.
I'll take the punt when it gets to around a tenner. I don't like that there is no ai companions. It was a nice feature in Wildlands but even Ubi ruined that by taking out all of the squad banter.
@TheBuzz Unfortunately it doesn't look like it'll ever be playable completely offline — Ubisoft has said it can cause too many issues with how the game runs. But it is apparently working on a mode that negates a lot of the online functionality and just checks that you're still connected every now and then, rather than force you to have a constant connection.
I was going to buy this as I wanted a Co op shooter to play with a friend but plumped for the division 2 at 8 quid instead. I couldn't wait to see if this update was going to make the game better.
@Dan_ozzzy189 division2 is the better game for coop with friends, that they perfected. but there is two problems with division2, they have doubled down on the weapons/equipment upgradere to sell you more microtransaction since its a live service game. then you also have the "big strong wahmen" at every camp, that command you around and talk down to you like you are a child(in the story). its like all the woman have suddently become feminists and butch, even when the developers said "we dont do politics". it just dont make sense at all in a post apocalyptic world. of course there would be a few woman that take leading roles. but everyone knows it will go back to more traditional roles. where womans most important task is to take care of family and children first, and not go out there to get themself killed. also the setting is a bit more boring and bland than the first game. i really liked the first game and not so much the second game.
