Blizzard is taking a step back from the comicbook vibes of Diablo 3 with Diablo 4, it would seem. Revealed during the opening ceremony of BlizzCon 2019, Diablo 4 looks set to return to the dark fantasy that was so prevalent in Diablo 2, complete with more greys and browns than a rundown council estate.
The action role-playing game received a three-minute gameplay trailer, which we've embedded above. In it, we get to see combat, environments, and three playable characters: barbarian, sorceress, and druid. You can also ride horses, which means that yesterday's leak (at the time of writing) was spot on.
Blizzard says that more Diablo 4 details will be dished out as BlizzCon continues over the course of the weekend. There's even a playable demo at the convention, so we should be hearing much, much more about the title very soon.
Diablo 4 is currently in development for PlayStation 4, but no release date or release window has been given.

Looks amazing. Can't wait.
All I can say is Yes
Looks amazing.
Apparently the initial project was looking more like a darksoulesque take on Diablo, so more like a 3rd person arpg, but the whole thing was scrapped in 2016 and development started again from scratch to give D4 a more classic style.
I would have loved to play a dungeon crawler with procedural generated dungeons, Diablo loot fest and combat mechanic From software style though....
But if they give me more classic Diablo, I am still a happy camper
I wasn't really blown away. I'm not really a fan of isometric action RPGs.
They're like CRPGS, but mindless.
Seems like something I'd buy if it were $20 bucks to play with a friend.
This looks delicious.
Looks great! I still need to get around to completing Diablo 3 and the Necromancer expansion before this comes out.
Stay a while, and listen.....
My phone is ready!!!
Pretty underwhelming if im being honest.
Many hours will be lost to this game...
@arnoldlayne83 I think maybe procedurally generated Souls sounds better on paper than in reality. The chalice dungeons in BB weren’t exactly brilliant other than the new bosses and I think the genre benefits from tight, measured level design. Every bit of those games was thought through, even the infuriating bits like that bloody archer in Anor Londo.
This looks AMAZING
Why only three playable classes though? Kind of a step back if you ask me, but whatever.
