Nothing really mind-blowing, but the new FF7R footage is worth it. Looks stunning.
Imagine getting FF7R Part 1 and Cyberpunk 2077 in the same year!
@Tsurii
Good point, I have been thinking that since I first heard it would be broken up into many episodes over time. Def think it would pay off to finish it no matter the time and that finished product will please and captivate fans and audiences much more.
Meh. Nothing surprising. More of a space filler while we wait for e3 or a big game release
@Tsurii I think expecting even year long breaks between chapters is being generous. It'll likely be a couple of years between chapters. Which doesn't bother me too much if each part is meaty enough to justify the investment.
Whatever the case may be, I'll absolutely purchase these games at launch.
Not bad of a State of Play, I'm loveing that "Away" game and am going to keep an eye on it for sure.
@Ralizah I think we'll probably see something more akin to FF15, the the story is mostly complete and side stories will be sold down the line.
It wasn't a mind-blowing presentation but anybody who expected that is clueless because Sony basically told us ahead of time what would be shown. All I cared to see was the extended look at Medievil because I enjoyed the PSP game when I played it years ago. It looks decent enough so I'll be picking it up this fall if the price is right.
Overall, a better State of Play than the first and I think it will improve over time as Sony figures out how it wants to use this format. Nintendo Direct didn't exactly hit the ground running either, imo, all the people freaking out need to realize these things take time. I'll still always prefer live press conferences or say a video of devs on PS Underground debuting something, but the times are what they are. If this is how Sony wants to proceed I'm just going to hope for the best.
@Tsurii you gotta be kidding me. Tell me they’re not making FF7 into episodes?
@Dodoo personally I’d take 3-4 long episodes that do the original locations justice over one rushed game. It is a hell of a lot of game to remake effectively. Places like Costa Del Sol which were just 5-6 prerendered backgrounds need to be remade as towns which you’ll actually spend some time in exploring.
@kyleforrester87 you could never call this remake rushed lol
@Robinsad i obviously mean less rushed in terms of development and more rushed in terms of the pacing of the story etc
That Aeris seems like a sweet girl. Lets hope nothing bad happens to her.
Why are they splitting the game into episodes, though? Is the original game really that long? If there's three or more episodes, I'll probably just wait for the complete edition.lol
It wouldn't surprise me if the episodic nature of the game also split into Advent Children story etc. I doubt this will be disc 1 = episode 1 and so on.
@kyleforrester87 yeah it’s a lot of work but the devs knew that when they started. I wouldn’t want it rushed either but would also rather wait until it’s done as one than wait for instalments...
@Dodoo it was obviously going to be released in instalments from day one, probably one of the reasons it was green lit. People are calling the decision stupid, but as a business why make £40 when you can make £120. To be honest I’m more than happy with it being in instalments if they get the content per game right, as I’m sure many other consumers will be.
Of course we don’t want to feel like we’ve been robbed but like anything else if the value is there people will buy it so it’s up to SE to make sure it’s an attractive deal. They don’t have an amazing track record in recent decades but in fairness what we have seen of this game so far looks pretty great so benefit of the doubt n all that.
Even if it episodic, I still want to play it at launch.
or maybe the story pace could be the same as disc 1, 2 and 3.
