PlayStation's State of Play livestream just wrapped up, and it was upcoming PS4 exclusive Concrete Genie that was one of those taking centre stage. It's releasing in the latter months of 2019, and you can check out a new story trailer above.
The footage details why protagonist Ash decides to paint the town, as well as demonstrating in-game mechanics as he interacts with his brush strokes. There's an emphasis on traversal too, with zip-lines to use and major jumps to make in order to avoid drops that would surely spell doom. Most excitingly though was the confirmation that Concrete Genie will support PlayStation VR, allowing you to interact with your drawings on an even deeper level.
Do you plan on picking up a paintbrush later this year in Concrete Genie? Show us your interpretation in the comments below.

Does this Game Remind Anyone of Epic Mickey
Coming later then I thought but VR is a good reason to delay it.
Looks cool, does anyone know if this will be available physically?
I know the developers said it was just a coincidence, but after seeing this trailer, I refuse to believe Infamous Second Son wasn't an influence for this game.
Love the art style, looking good.
Day one, looks very interesting.
Looks very good. I really don't like the voice acting of the main kid though. Sounds flatter than a pancake under a steamroller.
@Enuo i don't care what they say, that's him when he was younger it's so obvious!
Been keeping up with this since day one..Looks better with each Trailer.
@Areus I wrote "Epic Hoodlum" in the live comments as soon as I saw the paintbrush. 😁
Then I wrote heartless b/c ever since KH 1 I've been calling all creatures like that heartless even though I saw them in Okami first but I always liked the name heartless.
Looking forward to this one, but really, wasn't it supposed to come out in late 2018, then spring of 2019? Guess I'll go look it up.
Edit: Yup, announced at E3 2017 for a 2018 release, then at E3 2018 pushed back to spring 2019. Which is when I commented this game will be in trouble if it releases after Dreams. And while it may still release before the full game of Dreams it is going to come after Early Access Dreams. Though this game does look story driven so that should help.
Oh well, this still looks good, like Puppeteer and Tearaway Unfolded, 2 games I think I got with PS+.
I feel like I'm kind of in limbo until we get some PS5 news.
@rjejr I like smaller games like this its a nice break from the Big Budget AAA games and since its a first party game you can expect a High quality Game that won't brick your console
This one is the one i want to play day one. 😁
Looks good. Animation is eerily reminiscent of Davey and Goliath somehow.
@Areus "that won't brick your console"
I don't worry about games bricking my console... just the patches.
