If you haven’t been keeping track, Gran Turismo Sport continues to grow – in fact, it’s recently earned its place at the top of our Best PS4 Racing Games list. Polyphony Digital’s nowhere near done, though, with 5th March bringing another five vehicles to the exclusive racer. As is usually the case, series overlord Kazunori Yamauchi’s opted for silhouettes, but we’re pretty sure we see a Toyota Supra in there.
These updates usually come with other content, such as new Scapes and various other gameplay tweaks and improvements. In terms of cars, this is probably the smallest patch yet, but… Well, you can’t really argue with free, can you?

I want more Initial D cars pls. Plus some tunes.
@Frigate no, me either. They really should be building a single player in to it aswell. I miss the days of GT4.
@Kidfunkadelic83 The campaign mode can be played offline though...
@Kidfunkadelic83 I've said this in other threads, but I've spent (at a guess) around 100 hours on this now and I've never raced a single time online. There is a lot of offline racing to get through and they keep adding more all the time for free.
@Kidfunkadelic83 @Frigate
I have to agree with both of you
The campaign mode on this game just seems to have something missing compared to previous GT entries.
Yes it has been updated since a very poor launch with the different leagues and Cup competitions but for me there just seems to be no real sense of progression, it just feels a random selection of races and there seems to be no reward for working your way through.
As an example in gt6 (or pretty much any previous gt game), you would pick a cup to race in, you'd win prize money for each race and then you'd win a prize at the end for winning the tournament (this bit seems to be completely absent in gt sport, you just simply get a prize for each race with no real direction where to go next)
For me GT games were all about starting out with an old banger, tuning it up with your prize money, then eventually being able to buy a better car and working your way up. Again all this seems to be completely missing from this game so it just doesn't feel like a GT game in the way I grew up with them.
I'd just like to add to my above comment as it may sound like I'm hating on the game.. Far from it, as far as the actual Racing goes it looks, sounds and plays absolutely fantastic, each different car really does feel unique, it's as good or better than anything else I've ever played.
I particularly like how the Driving school and the challenges effectively teach you how to play the game.
I just feel a little disappointed in what the campaign modes offers compared to the GT games I grew up playing.
I don't have PS plus so can't really comment on the online side of the game.
I spent well over 100 hours on this game and I rarely play multiplayer. The support is fantastic and Polyphony really did a fantastic job with continued FREE updates.
@TowaHerschel7 yeah but it's hardly a campaign tho is it? It's just a series of races under different tiers with no real sense of direction. Gone are the days where you had to start out with an mx5 and grind your way to a better car or a sports exhaust etc for that bit extra power.
It's not a campaign at all really.
@SoulChimera you right. There is alot of offline racing to be had but it's not a structured single player campaign that's very engaging. No upgrading of components etc. I tried of it pretty quickly if I'm honest which is a shame as the game handles and looks absolutely phenomenal.
Hey, did you guys realise you used a real life photo instead of an in game screensh- oh, wait what? DAMN!
@Frigate
Out of interest do you actually like Peugeot cars or were you being sarcastic, it hard to tell online. Only I've never met anyone who doesn't think they're awful. I've personally had one for a year or so and the best thing I can think to say about it is that I know I've had the worst car of my life and its only better cars for the rest of my life now.
@Kidfunkadelic83 don't know why you are getting down votes.... I feel the same way. I poured hundreds of hours into GT5 and 6. This one just didn't keep my attention. Maybe I expected more. The game is beautiful and plays great (VR is awesome too) but it just doesn't "feel" like GT.
@Kidfunkadelic83 I do agree with that, it would be nice to have some sort of reason to get through the cups rather than just to see a gold next to it.
@Marios-love-child I completely agree. I loved GT2 and worked towards getting my Mustang SVT & upgrading it to the racing version. That was easily the best/fastest 394bhp car in the game. The race tracks were absolutely ace too and GT3 was also great. After those, GT was never the same for me.
I just wish GT Sport updates & includes the GT2 tracks.
@MaseSco
Oddly enough GT2 & GT3 were probably the 2 games I played the least.
Not because there was anything wrong with them, they just happened to be released at a time in my life when I didn't play Video games quite as much despite owning a PS2 since day one.
I grew up on the SNES, N64 & PS1 but I would have been in my late teens / early 20's when those games released and just always seemed to be out "Socialising"
It was only when I got my own place aged 24 that I got back into gaming... This was around the Wii & PS3 era and I've never looked back since
Gotta echo what a lot of you guys are saying. It's great that they added the cups but the sense of progression is no where near the other games in the series. Starting out with a crappy. Honda civic and Grinding out the Sunday cup a few times to buy a better car was always a great way to start imo. Really hope they go back to a more traditional single player in the next one, whenever that is.
ive had this game since launch and have played for around 220 hours, only 60 hours of that was actual racing, the rest was in menus, creating liveries, buying cars... hmm yeah... its a good game with great realistic graphics, sounds, car models, gameplay, and good music. I love that they are putting new cars every month, not that i can get any of the ones over 2000000 credits.
