One of the most iconic fights in the entirety of Dragon Ball is the first real clash between Goku and Vegeta in Dragon Ball Z. So with that in mind, the confirmation of base form Goku and Vegeta as the next downloadable content characters in Dragon Ball FighterZ makes some sense. Although having said that, we doubt that reasoning will stop many fans from thinking that their inclusion seems like a waste when so many other characters have been ignored.
Anyway, the latest issue of V-Jump has the details. Goku has his spirit bomb -- which is apparently incredibly slow but immensely powerful -- alongside his kaioken, which sounds like it'll allow him to string together some exclusive combos. What's more, it supposedly grows more powerful if his allies are knocked out.
Disappointingly, there's no mention of Vegeta getting his Great Ape form, although he will have his classic galick gun.
The duo are set to release in early August, so we should be seeing them in action very soon.

You'd think they'd be in the game to begin with.
Id have preferred a DBZ game that didn't have numerous forms of Goku. This isn't Final Bout bad yet though.
Now the real problem is Why the hell are the basic forms of the two most iconic characters freaking DLC?
That's like Smash releasing with Doctor Mario but Mario is DLC.
@Knuckles-Fajita @Enuo I'm not sure you can have base form Goku in the same starting roster as characters like final form Frieza and Perfect Cell, though. It makes a lot more sense to have SS Goku and SS Vegeta, so I can see the reasoning behind it.
That said, having yet another Goku and another Vegeta as DLC is pretty weak, in my opinion. When you consider the variety that's in the cast of Dragon Ball, it seems like a real shame.
I'm sure Arc System Works will make them fun to use, but it's always going to feel like a wasted opportunity.
@ShogunRok Still better than Final Bout, where 7 of the 18 characters were Goku...
you know i'm fine with them being in the game after all it is the Saiyan Saga versions and they have a completely different move sets
BUT they should have been in the game at release and not as DLC and like @ShogunRok said it's a missed opportunity that could have been used for more DB Super characters like Cabba and Kefla

Super sayan forms and character variations should be in the base game and like you pick goku you can evolve to super sayan in the middle of the battle!
Having the same characters over and over is a waste imo...

Honestly i can see a season 2 of DLC i am excited to see Android 17 as he somehow made his way to the my favorite character from super
Eh I'd rather more characters. But hey, now we can have a pure three Goku/Vegeta team- thats what we all wanted... Right? (Though I'll prob just have a Base Goku/SS Goku/Goku Black)
@AllTheReddist well with FighterZ fighting system it's the closest you will got to transforming in battle
