Divinity: Original Sin 2 has just hit PC, but according to a quick interview with Eurogamer, developer Larian Studios isn't quite ready to talk about the PlayStation 4 version just yet. The sequel to Divinity: Original Sin -- which launched as an Enhanced Edition on PS4 in 2015 -- has sold almost 500,000 copies on PC in less than a week.
"As for the console versions, we're now focused on delivering our first patch for the PC version," Swen Vincke, owner of Larian Studios told the publication. The first Divinity was brought to Sony's system more than a year after its initial PC release, but as far as we're aware, the console port was a big success for the studio. Here's hoping that it doesn't take that long for the sequel to arrive.

Read a few reviews. Frankly it looks incredible.
Not surprised they arnt talking about the PS4 version yet though. Happy to see them look after the PC community for a while and get patches etc sorted out.
Hopefully the PS4 version will come along soon though (with a 60fps single player option to boot...)
Of course this will happen, and I can't wait. Divinity 1 was one of a very few games this gen I managed to complete and really enjoyed from start to finish.
I picked this up over the weekend to play some co op with a few friends, but one of them has run into a problem where his save refuses to load up, which has been a less than common complaint amongst those who get about 14 hours in. I'd say give them time to work all the kinks out for the PS4 version. They were a lot more ambitious this time around, but there are some pretty nasty bugs and game breaking glitches being reported.
One of my favorite styles of games and the first one was great. This doest have to come too soon though, many to get too including Pillars of Eternity.
The first game was a beaut so I'll be defo nabbing this when it's released eventually. I might have to play through it again with a different class and choose some different companions.
I can't wait. I played the first one co-op with my girlfriend and we had a blast. The sequel can't come soon enough for me, although hopefully not before I've got the platinum in Final Fantasy XII.
@kyleforrester87 You would be extremely lucky to get 60fps on the ps4 for Divinity Original Sin 2. The first Divinity Original Sin wasn't even 60fps on the ps4.. More like a constant 30fps..
@dragons100 The developers said they chose split screen 30fps over single screen 60fps, so i'd like an option to disable split screen and play at 60, since I didn't play it co-op.
Granted I'd expect this game to be more graphically intensive than the first one, but it's the same engine and will be scalable. So yeah, 60fps should be no problem..if you have the option to ditch co-op.
Quote for ref:
However, the frame rate is capped at 30 FPS rather than going to 60 FPS. Swen Vincke, who is co-founder, CEO and creative director of Larian Studios, explained why when speaking to GamingBolt. It’s due to the split-screen co-op mode.
On being asked whether Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition runs at 60 FPS on PS4 and Xbox One, Vincke stated, “No. It’s going to run at 1080p at 30fps. That is because we don’t want to differentiate between split screen and the main mode. You have drop in, drop out multiplayer. People can just jump in with a second controller and start playing in split screen mode that runs at 30 fps.”
I'd be incredibly surprised if it never happens but I do expect it to be on a similar timetable as the original. PC first is no surprise considering the genre and the fact that they were kickstarted as PC games. Also if there's enough of a market for not only the original but also Wasteland 2, Tides of Numenera and Pillars of Eternity, surely it'd be a bad move to not port it eventually.
Personally I can't wait.
@Gatatog The only thing that makes me think it'll be quicker this time round is that they have the console control schemes all figured out. They did comment as such, that the ground work was done in the first game.
They could turn this around real quick if they wanted to I bet. But it's best they fix the bugs and have a wee rest!
I really, really hope that both this and Pillars 2 get a PS4 release down the line. I've had two tries with Divinity, got quite far into it actually, but somehow I always have tought time immersing myself in it. It's more like appriciate the world that they've created and the things they've done, rather than actually enjoy it (with the exception of the amazing combat system). Objectively speaking though it is definitely a great game.
