Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was a smash hit over on Kickstarter when it was first revealed back in 2015. The project was funded incredibly quickly, but for how long it's been in development, we haven't seen too much of the Castlevania clone. And what we have actually seen of it hasn't looked especially polished, either.
The game's slated for a 2018 release on PlayStation 4 and Vita, but going by legendary developer Koji Igarashi's latest comments, we may be lucky to see it make next year. Speaking to Famitsu, Igarashi admits the title is only 20 to 30 per cent complete. We think it's safe to say that we all expected it to be a little further along by now.
What's your take on Bloodstained? Is it ever coming out? Will it be any good if it does? Tell us how much this all sucks in the comments section below.

Final Fantasy did the same thing and then suddenly it jumped to 80%.
If the game is being made with modular art assets, and I assume it is looking at the demo, they can build new areas easily and efficiently, so that will take a lot of strain off.
But who knows. I'm not a "real" game developer XD
really, i was expecting it to at least half done by now
no way are they hitting a 2018 release
I was expecting it to be at least 80% complete by now. Considering its been 2years and I would have thought that some of it would have been built before the Kickstarter...
Shantae half-genie hero, a 2D game by wayforward, need 3 year time from kickstater to ps4 launch (2013-2016), so 3 year time for bloodstained is normal (2015-2018).
Thought it would be further along as they put out a playable demo a while back. Oh well.
Still plenty of time to change the name to 'Bloodstained no.9' in that case.
I never had faith in this one (just like I never had faith in Mighty No 9).
People need to judge Kickstarter games by the promise shown in gameplay/design, not the hype of a famous developer.
They'll be asking for more money then
@Octane Well if they rush it and start another Kickstarter next to it.
@sketchturner Did not know the developer i just liked the setting.
