Only adding fuel to the 'wait six months before you buy it' debate, Mass Effect: Andromeda launched in a sorry state last week. The game's not outright broken, but it's easily one of the buggiest big-budget titles that we've played on PlayStation 4. Fortunately, EA and BioWare are on the case.
A list of known bugs has been posted over on the EA Answers forum. Supposedly, all of the stuff that's there is currently being worked on, so we'll hopefully see an update release soon.
Here's said list:
Known Mass Effect: Andromeda Bugs
Squadmates
- Squadmates may repeatedly teleport on top of the player, and may follow when told not to.
UI
- Objects in space may rotate slowly or may appear jittery when using the right control stick.
Missions/Levels
- PS4 - Repeatedly skipping opening cinematics on the Remnant City critical path mission can cause Ryder to hang in mid-air.
- Game does not save often enough during main missions.
- We are aware of some areas where progression events may fail to trigger. If you encounter this you may be able to get past this by leaving the area and returning
General
- Running in a zig-zag pattern can result in Ryder entering an unintended animation state.
- Audio may stop during play. Closing and restarting the game will restore audio.
- Immediately creating a new Ryder after exiting a current playthrough can result in Journal quest items carrying over and a number of bugson the Hyperion.

It's a fantastic game and I'm enjoying it immensely so any improvement is most welcome.
I uninstalled this piece of crap and will never buy another Bioware game again. I'm glad I didn't buy it, but it's good they're taking care of some of the more serious bugs for the people that do enjoy it.
I've encountered a few bugs and a couple of instances where I had to save and restart in order to trigger mission objectives, though I'm still finding it less buggy than the state the PS3 versions of the original trilogy are still in to this very day.
How about in multiplayer you can't create a party and then join a match? Either you or one of your friends has to create a match, invite friends, and then wait for randoms to join if you don't have 4. Waited 5 minutes for people to fill in spots last night, kinda annoying.
@JoeBlogs To me, it feels just like the older games but with more open worlds and more versatility added into gameplay.
About 10 hours in and I've 17% completed and I haven't come across anywhere near the level of bugs people are moaning about, yeah some of the facial animations aren't the best but they never were in a ME game.
@JoeBlogs yes I played me1 3 times and me2 my favorite 4 times but only me3 twice. Yes this is very much mass effect
I was pretty hyped for this game as a HUGE Mass effect fan. Even though I'm dying to dive into multiplayer again, I'm going to hold off until the summer time when the game is 40 dollars or so. Never thought I would say that about a Mass Effect game, but here we are. I still need to finish up Zelda and get Persona 5 as well.
I have reached level 25/26 now and have 2 planets at 100% viability. I have played a LOT and encountered a few glitches/bugs, a few odd stutters here and there but whats most annoying is a few crashes - 3 or 4 now.
As a ME fan, its good but not 'great'. A few things have improved over the original trilogy but in some ways, some things haven't. The animations etc are reminiscent of the old games but with better visuals, they stand out more. Its as if they started making the game for the old platforms on the old engine and ported much of the game into Frostbite. I don't think the developers are fully up to speed with that engine. Dialogue is rough in places but not all animations, lip synch etc are poor.
I know people keep mentioning Horizon but ME is a much bigger game, much more to do, more RPG focused, more dialogue and characters, More side quests (not all fetch quests or simple go here, do something and return), has an MP etc etc. Not criticising Horizon at all, its a fantastic game and runs a lot better but it is a lot smaller too.
Personally I think ME:A released too early and really need time to polish, maybe some reworking of the dialogue etc but I wonder if EA were pressurising BioWare to get it out sooner rather than later..
@itshoggie Agreed. Haven't come across any major bugs yet (touch wood). Really enjoying it.
@Constable_What maybe if they get away from EA eh?
Strange...I didn't see any spastic animation for kids mentioned in the list hmm. Maybe they haven't picked up that yet.. Lol
The game itself I'm enjoying a lot so far. Unfortunately the day one patch seems to have glitched the first story trophy in the game "become the pathfinder" (or sth like that).
Im happy i did not buy this game.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi I think that goes without saying. Some bugs bite more so than others.
